I was there with a party of 4. 3 of the 4 were very disappointed. Also we all thought it was expensive for what was ordered. About 50 bucks ( including tip ) for my me and my friend. We didn't order any drinks. I'll stick with Cheddars .

How does it compare to the one in Asheville?

I took my wife there and found it to be nice and the food was good. However, I agree, it cost way too much for what you get. I will stick with Cheddars as well.

I went on the first day. Had great service and food is tasty. I think the food is worth the money.

loved the building and furnishings. Food was just ok, service was great. I don't know; maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.?

Loved the ambience, but like the previous poster and posters, the food was just ok and was priced a little steep. It is a good place to go every once in a while, but if you are looking for value for your money, I don't think this is it. I also don't like the location, but that's just me.

Extremely overpriced. Not a place I'd go out of my way to return to.

The place is fine, but for my money, Salt n Pepper are local and have tried really hard to be creative with their simple soul food. I appreciate their hard effort and that is where I will spend my money, if I spend any of it in JC. But wait, Tupelo Honey is supposed to revitalize downtown! What a sorry excuse we have for City Leadership if that is the only hope we have. I doubt Tupelo will last more than 6 months.

I know, I know, the menu is totally different; but if I'm eating on that side of town, give me " Firehouse". Yum!

One of the most overrated restaurants around. So another restaurant opened in the Tri-Cities......big deal.

You nailed it perfectly. Downtown JC sucks, always has and always will.

I agree, the service was fine, the food kinda ho-hum and priced too high. Have you folks tried the Korean Taco House? I like it a lot, all around, but I'll leave it up to you to rate it. A great value for your money and a happy belly when you leave there!
Ouch

They charged me 3.75 when I asked for two slices of tomato. If there are 8 slices in a tomato, that would be $15.00.

The Tupelo Honey in Asheville kicks. I honestly believe people in Johnson City would complain if a bag of money fell out of the sky and hit them in the head. Johnson City will never grow into anything, and the people will stay the same. As Bristol and Kingsport growing, Johnson City in imploding.

You prove to be an idiot. Imploding...what a joke. Neither of those 2 will ever be half the city of JC. Johnson City is constantly growing with new businesses and restaurants. Tupelo Honey just happens not to be a good one for the money. Lets hear some "Imploding" facts. Go back and wash some more dishes at The Honey.

Clodhopper,
Apparently your brain has been rattled by the whine of mud tires, and Florida Georgia Line blasting through the Walmart speakers in your pick up truck. You also have no idea the definition of imploding when used in reference to (out growing infrastructure)

Please, ask one of your friends that may have completed half a semester community college to explain it to you!

While some of you are acting like house proud town mice, I can only say that Tupelo Honey in JC is drastically overpriced, and that's all I have to say about that.

The wife and I really enjoyed our food. But the waiter was crap. The outside seating is great.
