If you have rental property beware,people will tell you anything to get in ,then you can,t get them out.you will then have to take them to court,which will cost you,then the judge will give them more time in your place. Beware because these people that rent know this.check them out ,do a credit check ,whatever you have to do,just don't listen to some hard luck story,they have em.once they get in ,they,re in !!!

Yep, you are 100% correct. Best course of action is to check references from their previous landlords. Look online and see if the tri cities has a Landlords Association. These are very helpful

Also, check with the courts for any criminal charges or civil actions, such as evictions.

These people are professionals,they know how long they can stay in you place and never pay a dime,we are in the process now of evicting a guy from one of our places that knew he was never going to pay us,he stayed in our property for about six months on us ,plus he wrecked our place,broken windows,trash all over the place,yet,we have no rights,we just own the place,we pay taxes on the place,oh well ,we were taught a valuable lesson!!!!

After 10 days of being late, file an eviction notice with the Sheriffs Dept and have it served. From there the person has 30 days and must appear in court. No appearance means they lose. Then they're allowed 30 more days depending on if they appeal. After that time is up, the police themselves will move all their property out of the residence and they have so much time to pick that up. It's an aggravating process. If you join a Landlords Association you can ask other landlords about people or warn other landlords about such people. Eventually these people will run out of places to rent.

I wouldnt rent to someone who gave me a sob story as to why I need to let them move in to start with. That right there tells u they arent respectable & that they are trying to scam u.

Youre right about them knowing how to work the system & they have more rights than we do.

DO NOT rent to Indians who own hotels, convenience stores, etc. I had the misfortune to rent an upscale condo to one. They were there 4 years, and in that time there were 3 generations living there. They did $12,000.00 worth of damage. They cook with curry, and fry everything on high heat. My stove was burned up, grease was dripping down the walls, had settled on light fixtures, etc. The carpet was ruined, it cost $750.00 to get everything in the condo washed down before it could be painted, kids had marked on woodwork with crayons, and marking pens. The "nut", who called himself a businessman, harassed me by calling and asking for his deposit back!! I had to get an attorney to write him a letter stating he owed back rent, owed for damages, etc. He is out of state, and I never heard another word from him. Another thing he did was to have the locks changed so I couldn't get in to see the damage. I had to get a locksmith to get in my own condo. He was supposed to call for a walk through, and give me the keys, but that didn't happen. He fled. I didn't want to rent to him to start with. I wish I had told him "NO", sue me!

I have heard, after the fact, that Indians have ruined other person's rentals as well. They all cook with curry, and the smell is very hard to remove. You have to have every inch of the property cleaned, painted, etc. In my case, they were EXTREMELY filthy people. I have been a landlord for 25 years, and they did the most damage. I would MUCH rather be sued for discrimination than to let another Indian move into any of my properties. I have pictures, and would invite any judge to look at them.

This gang of Indians had a local convenience store, and the elder Indian stole a customers credit card. They had him on tape, using the card at Walmart & Food City, and he was arrested. Then, his son & daughter-in-law were arrested for shoplifting, in Johnson City. They were a lowdown bunch of trash. BEWARE of these people.

That was one family NOT all Indians are that way.
If you didn't want to rent to them why did you? What about other minorities you going to complain about them also.

I am a property manager and I find that cigarette smokers are just as bad as anyone. Can't get the smell out and have sticky nicotine stuck to everything. Costs a lot more to turn one that has been smoked in. Plus, even after using an ozone machine, replacing the carpet and many other things that would not normally be necessary I have had prospective nonsmoker residents that wouldn't lease because it still had the smell.

Race has nothing to do with the matter,these people I,ve rented to are pro,s at it,they know exactly what they are up to,they can tell you ,I don't have the rent this month,what can you do?NothingAll you can do is go to the courthouse ,pay 175.00 and get there sorry ----- thrown out!we do need to start a page with their names so no one gets shafted by these low lifes!!!!
