I agree with the last post....I'm hungover like every class... I love the acoustic coffeehouse as well as he downtown bars. And the professors have been great. More personal than the larger schools. And its beautiful here

I am there now. I hate it. I am in the education program tho. My cousin studied languages and loved it, so I think it may be the program of study that I have chose. I hear Milligian is the best around here for the education program. Wish I could afford it. From what I have experienced, there aren't a lot of professors or staff that really care or want to help. You kind of have to dig around for them. There is one friendly lady in admissions. I think her name is Victoria. The rest of them... not so much. Financial aid just depends. None of my professors tolerate absences for any reason. If you are absent regardless of hospitalization, deaths, and so forth it still counts against you. Some classes you loose a letter grade each time. I went to a community college before where I felt I was treated a lot better, but it was a community school so that may be why.... It is non smoking and I really enjoy that. I hate smoke and I do not think my lungs should be polluted because others are stupid and inconsiderate so I do really like that! I don't party a lot, but there is a nearby club. Use to be called, The Planet. Not sure what it is called now. Also a little bar across the street from that. I think they do karaoke sometimes, and there is a newer club in downtown JC also. Go to tricitiesnights.com

Seems to me ETSU is just another state university running like a flour mill. Bullshit classes required to make you a "well rounded person". All a part of the never ending bogus education system. Anyone interested in the night life and party aspects would fit right in, in spite of barely wanting an education. Bring your suitcase and plenty of money. My son went there to achieve a degree in journalism. After 2 years of "continuing education", he was forced to bring home a bar of soap to carve into a work of art! That makes a well rounded person, according to them. It is a racket, plain and simple with bullshit classes run by bullshit professors (many of whom are really just pre-grad students doing their damnedest to impress). If mom and pop are footing the bill, go to ETSU, but don't expect to learn anything other than how to play the game.
