You know the political esp. the Republican party wants to return to the good ol days. When you had the rich and slaves with no benefits. I watched the movie, The Help. And it dawned on me that is what the Republican want again. This time it doesn't matter the color of your skin. Just let them be rich with no questions and be their slaves. No benifits, no health care, no retirment, no medicare. And do not ask questions, otherwise it is "class warfare" and we are trying to stop the job creators, that keep the money and work the "Help" for nothing.

Could not agree with you more ! This country is becoming a Country of "have's and have-nots"... and Roe is helping. A recent poll said that the US Congress's approval rating was at 10% BUT the single minded Republicans voters around East Tennessee will continue to elect this guy even tho he votes against most benefits for the working class. I loved the recent picture of him shown handing out a check for millions (and taking the credit!) when he originally voted against the measure. Democrats don't have a chance in East Tennessee BUT I hope that elsewhere the citizens of this Country will throw out the do-nothings (especially those who do bills for their own benefit) DEMOCRATS and REPUBLICANS and elect someone who will GET SOMETHING DONE !!!
huh?

I like you idea of everyone "helping" themselves BUT we ALL (young and old) have become accustomed to having things "free" - altho they are not free ! The unemployment payment benefits are stretched out too long - unless you need the money to put food on the table for your family ... Social Security is a mess due to Congressional spending (and why can't Congress come under the Social Security other Americans have instead of their own highly inflated benefits ?)... People complain about their taxes but when the garbage doesn't get picked up, or the streets do not get paved or the local library closes early, they won't vote more money to pay for these services. INFLATION makes everything cost more. THINGS cost money and people NEED to contribute to everyone's community concerns... if ya don't pay, ya don't get the services. But do you really want a society like we had in the 1930's where children were starving. One more thing... you said "get a job"... well - in Alabama recently they did the "anti-immigrant" thing and when the growers tried to hire Americans no one applied - sure, pay someone $12-14 an hour to pick tomatoes and then the cost in the store becomes so high, very few can afford them... once again back to the "have and have-nots"...

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY CORRECT. EVERY WORD. THEY WANT THE WEALTHY AND THE DESTITUTE. NOW HERE'S WHAT ABSOLUTELY BAFFLES ME. WHY???? Why WOULD THEY WANT TO BE RULED OVER? Are they really that sick? Have we underestimated their sickness? Are they masochists? Hey continually hand our freedom over to them. And like you said, if we question it, we are "envious of their wealth" ....or some motive that is so foreign to us that we don't even understand it.....they are insane....who would vote against heir own freedom?

I just don't know where people get this notion that there's freeloaders everywhere. Yes, there are people abusing the "benefits". But GOX keeps pointing that that to hide the MEGA FREELOADING at the top. People, the top 5% income has TRIPLED over the past 20 years. HAS YOURS?

It's already a HIGE monopoly. You should see the simple start. It will scare you to death and never think a thing about the poor and their income. It's almost non existant . The top 20 percent have 80% of all the money. Folks, when they get the last twenty percent. There will be some 360 million people running around swapping about $200. Now, FOX calls them job creators. They are money grunpbber and they don't spend or hire, Stagnant ...the only money they spend is to purchase little Ron Ramseys and crap.

It is funny to me to see the knee jerk (with emphasis on the JERK) reaction of the right wing posts here of "get a job". The working poor (WORKING) are the ones with no retirement, no benefits, no savings... They live paycheck to paycheck and for some reason around here they vote Republican. Republicans want to cut social programs that help the poor while they fight tooth and nail to protect big oil subsidies, tax loopholes for corporations, the bloated pentagon... I believe it is out of ignorance that these people vote against their own interests.

Lets say I am a 1%er, or a corporate CEO, and the worst are military contractors that make $BILLIONS$..... I literally purchase (campaign contributions anonymously and TOTALLY LEGALLY) republican and tea party candidates. The tea party candidate gets tons of money from these PACS so nobody knows who is purchasing who, right? Des that even sound American? That's the Supreme Court thru the citizens united decision to allow Corporations to make UNLIMITED AND ANONYMOUS CONTRIBUTIONS. Folks, in the words of Ron Ramsey when he lost the governorship of Tennessee, he said that Haslam had too much money to compete with. It's the only thing I've ever heard him say that I agree with. MONEY IS BUYING POLITICAL POSITIONS. It always has to an extent but not on this scale. Nowhere close to this scale..... Well, they get the money, the ads, the signs the huge campaign right...and they get votes thru SOCIAL ISSUES not Roads and jobs and fairness. It's all ABORTION, IMMIGRATION and Down with the FEDS........ They win the election and then watch what they do.....every single solitary vote for BIG MONEY, BIG BUSINESS.... Hell, a guy loses his job to China and six weeks later FOX is calling him a bum and congress is cutting his helpline.....all the food stamps in America cost me a dime a day. But in the time it took me to write this post, EXXON just got another $10,000 in subsidies.....does EXXON NEED HELP? And when I ask Phil Roe, he calls them Job Creators..... So I pay the richest company in America to hire my brothers so they can overcharge me for gas and make windfall profits, same as AT&T and many others. But food stamps is what I should be pissed off about? Unemployment benefits should piss me off? Social security (that working people paid for) should posts me off? Taking care of the elderly should piss me off? Universal access to healthcare should piss me off.

Let me tell you what pisses me off. Six members of the Walton family have as much money as 193 million other Americans. Yes, they employ 1.2 million people BELOW THE POVERTY LINE. And they actually send out human resources folks to have them meet in their little cramped break rooms and explain what benefits are available to them thru welfare.......

And of the workers strike, other Americans hate them for it. Because they watch FOX NEWS and think that the Walton's are "entitled to their success"..... And they don't owe anybody anything..... And they go to church.....?

America is lost. Phil Roe is lost. The church is lost. When the notion that those at the top are entitled to more and those at the bottom are entitled to less , we as a country are upside down and done for...

get a job[/QUOTE]

And I suppose that when your government check comes in, you will refuse it?

You will keep working until the day you turn 100 years old just because you like to work and pay taxes to keep up the rich?

You are rather ridiculous.

And as to your continuing banter about getting a job...are you going to pay for the mans bus fare to Mexico?

Or China? Or Bangladesh?

It aint 1968 any more. Most of the jobs are long gone. You cant just go out and get a decent job anymore. Bill Clinton and NAFTA ruined that for us.

And what did you personally do, to keep the jobs in America so that future generations could have one? Did you march in the street and carry a sign to oppose NAFTA?

Did you write a letter to your Congressman?

Did you even open your mouth?

Since you want to make the personal attacks on others who are less fortunate than you, then it open you up to personal examination.

You seem to have an attitude of being better than others, and thus worthy to talk to them as you do.

Now, you are being weighed and measured. Convince us that you are indeed worthy. Reveal to us the answers of all that I have asked of you.

If ye fail to do this, or fail to measure up to the mark, then we will have to consider that you are just a fool, and your words and ideas have no substance.

So also will your position be considered worthless and without validity.

So, spotlight is on you....Its....Showtime!

. NAFTA did it for good American jobs! I agree with you, but it wasn't only Clinton it was Gingrich as well and the Republican congress. Huh keeps saying "get a job". I've got two and substitute teach and still can't afford insurance, you are against Obamacare, but probably have the VA or Medicare. People in East Tennessee are dumb as rocks to vote Republican!

Amen. Just pick out your state senator and watch his every move (it's your duty, you know) and mine is Ron Ramsey. I have absolutely no respect for him whatsoever. Biggest crook in the third poorest state in the nation, and he would do ANYTHING to be king. I'd rather sleep at night.

He screws the very people who vote for him and they love him for it. What a. Joke! Money from Liqour. Speeding 92 MPH thru kknkxville. Wants drug tests for the unemployed . Presumption of guilt, but the real motive is that Diane blacks husband stands to make million$ and send it to Ramseys campaign. They'll spend 10 million dollars to save $60,000. They tried it on Florida. 98% passed, then they found out that the money went into the pockets of republican pals.

Wake up. Republicans are crooks by nature.

You've got two jobs and substitute teach yet can't afford insurance? Just who is dumb as a rock? You either have bad jobs, don't have any skills or you're simply a bad employee. Try not spending so much and you will be able to afford insurance. Try getting better paying jobs by improving your skills or giving some more effort. The people that are doing this don't want to pay for your insurance because of your lack of initiative, effort or bad choices. Roe got 80.8% of the vote so you better get used to him.

You got that right Pop. We'd better get used to this guy who casts his vote on our behalf against our interest. My insurance premiums were more than my mortgage payment Pop! When I went to the pharmacy a prescription might be $4.00, or it might be $200, We need universal coverage, but it looks like we have to settle for Obamacare for now. Thank God those like Row cannot do anything about it, though I'm sure they will continue to waste our time and $$$$ voting it down incessantly which I thought was the definition of insanity. Right?. Two factories I worked at were sent over the border dude so I got the jobs I could get. You probably have gov't insurance that I pay for with a name like Pop!!!

Hey pop. Eat a large bucket of horsehit, you pompous ass. Yes, roe got 80.8% of the vote because we live in a cesspool of stupid. We are in the third poorest state, the most uneducated state, and the historically most backward, bigoted state in the nation. Rie represents STUPID perfectly.

You are the rock solid stupid. And FU and our entire family. I hope a catastrophic illness lands at your house and bankrupts your dumb ass while the Wall Street thugs pump money into Roes pocket while your loved one wastes away. Then and only then will justice be served.

And lastly, history shows that the majority doesn't make it right. I met Roe. He's a worm and so are you (no offense to worms or worm-like creatures)

If you choose to live in a cesspool of what you think is stupid, then who is stupid? In fact, since you don't think very much of our state, why do you choose to live in it - stupid?

One thing you are correct on, the majority doesn't make something right, our current president is a perfect example of that.

Based on the wording of your post, your redneck mentality contributes to what you call a cesspool. Glad you get to live in what you helped create.
