The NRA promotes two things. Guns and Violence.

Pierre, the leader of the THUG GROUP NRA pushes guns with violent rhetoric and "the sky is falling" marketing.

Right here in East Tennessee, the state rep is Ron Ramsey. he is going against business owners and the law and wants to push through making it mandatory for there to be handguns in the workplace. He met with opposition from the local chapter of the Chamber of Commerce, and now the longtime president, has been fired.

Try continue to suggest that Obama wants to take our guns away. They should be imprisoned for that. The ONLY thing Obama has done regarding guns (PERIOD) is he made it legal to carry a gun Ina federal park. So, all those on the REICHT live, eat and breathe lies. And they go to hate group churchitty churches.

Makes you sick, don't it?

You're a fool. Obama supports the UN gun ban. Un arming citizens is the first step in government tyranny. Before its over the UN will be able to order US troops wherever it wants them. People that support gun control are commie socialists that need the government to protect them from themselves. Had one of those teachers been carrying a concealed weapon, one well placed bullet would have saved countless lives. The second amendment exists to protect the people from government tyranny. If guns kill people then spoons make you fat.

People die in automobiles and kill others with them everyday, you want those illegal too I'm guessing. How about those 20 kids in China that got stabbed to death? Think we should outlaw knives also? Guns don't kill people, people kill people, guns are just tools. Keep making gun laws, criminals don't obey the law, you'll leave all the good people unarmed and helpless. We don't have a gun problem, we have a people problem.

What a sick puke. Trying to twist/spin this tragedy for political gain. Sigh. I guess it's inevitable but couldn't you at least wait a few days. Or would your joy have wained some by then? Please continue to recieve help and for God's sake stay on your meds.

Just curious; I know there have been record gun sales for the past couple of years. And I know that most pro gun groups are saying that a safer society is an armed society. So, with more guns in the hands of civilians the theory is that these things should be more preventable. The question; is there a connection between the rise in gun sales and the fact that the number of mass shootings for the year is a record?

That question is a catch 22.. Here's another question, does all these gun control/ban laws being proposed increase gun sales?

Why turn this in to a debate on the NRA when all of the facts are not even clear yet?

This shooter was clearly a very sick and deranged person. It has come out that he had a form of autism and possibly another personality disorder. It is very odd that his mother would have purchased these particular weapons where he could access them. something definitely doesn't add up.

Also, if he was determined to kill for whatever reason, he could have prepared explosive devices, or other tactics as well..maybe even killing more Heaven forbid..

Kneejerk reactions at this point without really knowing all the facts just muddy the water for everybody. Just pray for the families..there will be plenty of time for debate later.

The answer to your question is yes. Also, there are no gun control bills being proposed at this time. I guess a better way to ask my question would be; does the increase in gun sales correspond to the rise in gun violence across the nation this year? Before you jump me for being a gun control nut, I bought 2 firearms myself this year. Just curious about opinions on the question.

Wow, I didn't know those guns made themselves go off. Had he burned down the school, would you be saying let's ban gasoline and lighters?

Two things:

1. You are an idiot.
2. You have no business using such a tragic event to try and promote your opinions.

I agree with much of what you say but the President has stated he doesn't support any type of gun ban. The UN action seeks only to limit import and export of certain types of weapons and has no effect on personal gun ownership. I own a handgun and would probably be an NRA member but I don't agree with their continual spewing of misinformation.

Folks, it's the maniac behind the gun, not the gun. If it wasn't a gun, it would be some other method for the sick s.o.b. to commit a heinous crime. More reason for us sane folk to have a gun, self defense.

Personally I think if there had been MORE guns in that school surely to God someone could have stopped that shooter before he killed 26 ppl!

Banning guns wont fix the problem! Only the criminals will have them then! Criminals dont follow the laws, u know?

Just a note; the weapons used in the mass killings this year have all been purchased legally.

I would assume because it's so easy to obtain them legally. If gun control measures were enacted it would still be fairly easy to obtain, just through alternate means, and gun control measures would only keep the honest people honest. Just think of what's happened with enforcement of possession/consumption of alcohol/drug laws...I think it would be almost exactly the same. I don't know the answer to prevent these types of horrific acts but I don't think limiting gun ownership is the answer.

I do believe that we need tighter controls on gun ownership. I have purchased a couple of guns this year. 10 minutes and I am out the door. My personal feeling is that not everyone should have access to a gun. Felons and people with a history of mental illness should not own guns. I do believe the gun show loophole should be closed. That being said, if you are not a felon and have no history of mental illness, you should be able to make your purchase. Fact is, until someone figures it out, we have to accept these mass killing as a fact of life of living in a free society. If someone wants to do kill a large group of people, they will. Be it a school, movie theater, or any other place where there are large groups of people.

There is another angle to these tragic happenings as well. Most of the recent shooters have been on psychotropic medications and under mental health care.

Someone on those types of medications must be monitored carefully and many mental health care professionals..well..to be honest..I don't trust that they know what they are doing.

Do a google search on psychotropic drugs and read up on them. How many people are being prescribed such medications and for what reasons?

I have very strong idea that the pharmaceutical lobby...which is much more powerful than the NRA, will never allow the truth behind these drugs to come under any serious scrutiny.

Gun Control is not the answer. Had that idiot not had a gun he would have either stabbed or burned or harmed those people in some other brutal way

You bring up a very interesting side to this problem. Great post and great viewpoint. So perhaps we need better control over the meds and the people taking them
