I have tried to purchase a car from them and the told me my car had been in a wreck and it had not been. Wanted to give me half of what I sold it for. The tall skinny man that use to work the used lot on Bristol Hwy was a total azz to me.... I will never go back there to try to purchase a car... I sold my car for 2 times as much as they wanted to give me.. They think their stuff is worth more than yours.. Get real.....too many other's that want my money an business..

I have had two negative experiences with Johnson
City Honda within the last month. Our first visit there we test drove a "certified" vehicle and during the drive we were asking the salesman some basic questions about the vehicle's history, ie..1 owner?...etc. Every question that we asked we got the reply of "I am not sure, I will have to check the vehicle report". After we returned to the lot and were talking amongst ourselves and had pretty much decided to keep looking, the salesman comes and asks us to come inside and meet the sales manager and acted offended when we told him that we had some more places to look and asked where else we were going, which I thought was a bit rude.

Well we ventured back there today to look at a different vehicle listed on their website. Had a very nice and considerate salesman who seemed to be quite knowledgeable about the vehicle. We liked it, sat down to discuss prices and fees, etc. Made an offer and was counteroffered with a discount equivalent to the "doc" fee plus $29.00...LOL. Was told that did not have enough mark up in vehicle to offer a lower price. First of all the so called "doc" fee is riciculous. How can justify charging the customer a fee to do the paperwork on the sale??? And to "graciously" remove this ridiculous fee plus a whopping $29 was downright insulting.

And now that I have read the comments posted by others with similiar experiences, I am totally convinced that I did the right thing by leaving empty handed.

I wouldn't send my kid to Washington County schools either. The fact that anyone sends (and can afford to send) their kids to private schools has nothing to do with how crappy of a businessman (woman) they are. I don't know why anyone would go to a new car dealership and not expect:
1. Higher than normal service fees.
2. Getting offered substantially less for your trade in than you could sell it for on the open market.
3.Having less than knowledgable salespeople.

Do your homework, get on the internet, save up your money, and find a low milage 3-5 year old car that has been well taken care of by someone with good records of maintence. Takes more time, but worth it in the long run. I would never step foot on a car lot to buy a car. It's like going to a casino....you can't win.

There are many ways in which Bill Gatton Honda makes it possible for Johnson City drivers to take home the Honda of their dreams. To begin, each new model we have in store has an amazing low price tag on it, including that hot new Odyssey you've had your eye on. A second way that we keep things affordable is with our exclusive special internet offers.

I went to JC Honda interested in purchasing a used vehicle on there lot. I know about car dealers because I have family in the business. I have a very nice truck that is valued approximately $12,500.00. Even if my truck was in rough shape the lowest value according to KBB is $8,700.00. The dealer obviously knew that I wasn't going to let them make a fortune off of my trade, so he told me that my truck would need a new motor, and that he could only give me $5,500.00. Funny, there was no problem with the motor other than a small tick,(notorious on 5.4 Fords) They have lost my business and everyone else's that I can reach!!!!

Watch out, JC Honda is now charging a 10% shop supply fee to your service bill, this is just another way to take your money, keep in mind there is 2 other Honda dealers in the area that will take your business without these money making tricks and there better service facilities with better shop equipment, if you want your honda serviced right with honda parts dont take it to JC honda

I was driving through Johnson City the other day & got behind a newer model gray Dodge Caravan that had bright yellow lettering in the back window. I finally caught up to the van at a red light & was able to read the yellow writing which stated : I bought this LEMON CAR at Johnson City Honda, Johnson City. Go to Johnson City Honda, Johnson City to purchase your very own Money Pit LEMON. Headaches and Heartaches are included in the sale, Johnson City Honda, Johnson City. Underneath the writing was a large lemon with a Johnson City Honda logo in it. It caught my attention & I thought it was pretty witty as well. I then started thinking about how much of a damn shame it is for this company to take advantage of so many consumers. Oh well, small town & region so let's see how long this company can get by with this type of business practices.

Stay clear of Johnson City Honda. They spend their money trying to clear up their image that they deservedly have earned. No respect for customers, they hound you to death while you try to look over a car and discuss it with your spouse, and they hard-sell everything on the lot with the tired, old salesman routine of "we can't go any lower! its a hot model, so we can't negotiate". Don't fall for it - leave the lot. They'll call you once you get home begging you to come back to the lot and they'll redo your offer - only to find out that they are just tacking on the difference in their fees and other hidden costs.
The owner/manager (Trujilo?) isn't interested in hearing from you unless you are buying a car.
Phil Bachman Toyota is a good dealer where we ended up buying our car. Some of the salesmen seem a little dodgy, but we luckily found a good one that worked with us to get the deal done to satisfy us and we ended up getting a lot more for our dollar.
Not that I care at all.....but you mentioned Joe Trujilo won't talk to you . He is the dealer principal, he does not run the dealership - you had a great expierience with Phil Bachman - glad you found a car and dealer you like but have you ever gotten to talk to Phil? Don't think so.

I did not know that Joe Trujilo could say anything besides: Johnson City Honda, Johnson City. So, why would anybody want to have a riveting conversation with the man? You would probably go into his office & it would look like the commercial of him sitting at this desk & shaking his head when he looked at you & stated: Johnson City Honda, Johnson City. Riveting!

The logo you saw on the van was someone I peronally know. They bought the CERTIFIED van at Johnson city honda only to have problems within a month of purchase. They found out that the vehicle had been wrecked and the airbags were deployed at some point of its life when they went to trade it on another vehicle and were told this within 2 months of purchase. The other dealership said the van was worth $9000.00 dollars less than they gave for it. They paid cash and johnson city honda said they would take it back on another vehicle but for alot less than it was bought for.. I have owned about 6 hondas and so thankful I got them in Bristol. Because they lie when they say Certified!!!

Not many know, but Trujillo is just the groundhog of the business. The actual owners are Lebanese. They made their fortune by direct mail business- nuisance marketing - but it is called "Johnson City Honda" because a foreign sounding name wouldn't work too well here.

All dealership service depts. are in business to rip off customers. That is the unfair truth. My problem with JCH is that they don't even bother to lock the doors of the vehicle once they work on it.

It wasn't as bad when it was Bob Barbour Honda.

I would offer my best advice to any human being to never, i repeat NEVER step foot at or on Johnson City Honda, as long as Joe T. the current partial owner is there. Some people among their staff will blatantly lie to you in attempts to get you in their dealership, They have one of the highest doc fees in the are 490.00, for simple accouting tag transfers, and will not readily make this available to you, they also try to throw in something called auto butler, which imo is a generic wax machine for over $500 additional, i ve seen them add it to deals without even asking customers, They, especially Joe treat the employees with no respect, Joe has been known to reneg on commission incentives at any given time, and the poor employees for the most part are scared to stand up to him, Joe's famous line is if u find another job, he doesnt need a 2 weeks notice, and that you can leave. No appreciation here, also his Sales Manager Jason has been known to say some pretty disrespectful things to employees, and even directly to customers, Only a fool would spend the first penny towards these greedy.....#### 100 percent honest truth
