I've been living in Kennesaw Ridge for several years. The neighborhood has always been peaceful up until the housing market took a down turn. Next thing I know several of the houses have been sold to with people with dozens of kids. These parents have no respect for those living around them. They let the kids hang out playing in the roads and they don't seem to care if their kids hang out and vandalize the neighbor's properties. I have been running kids off my property for months now. They ride bicycles and play ball in my vacant lot constantly. They trek all in my back yard with no respect for my privacy. I've asked the parents to control their kids, but they act like they have some right to trash my property. I have even tried no trespassing signs. Now I am having to install a security fence to keep the kids off my property. This s costing me a huge amount that I really could not afford. What makes people think that because they have kids, we should all suffer with them? I should have bought up the homes when they were on the market. This neighborhood does not need anymore kids!

wow you really exaggerate it dont you? You never said anything to us. Its a neighborhood!! Kids are gonna ride their bikes and play ball, but they do it in the road. Not your vacant lot. So you install a fence and complain you cant afford it? Stop your whining. Dont install a fence; grow a pair, get your butt up off the sofa, and come talk to us if you have a problem w our children. Dont come in topix and just type behind you computer.

I'm sorry, I thought this is what Topix is for. I'm not exaggerating anything. I have asked the people all around me to please stay off my property. I have put up no trespassing signs and left respectful notes in the mailboxes. It did not help. I see kids riding bikes through several yards, not just mine. I have spent alot of money fixing my yard up and planting trees in the lot next door. This past winter I caught kids sleigh riding up and down my hill and that kills the grass and trees. I certainly did not want to waste my money on a fence, but it did not seem I had a choice. I just wish this neighborhood could have stayed the nice neat, quiet neighborhood that it used to be. I am certainly not happy the way things have turned out.

People let their kids run wild.. that's the problem. You SHOULD be able to keep the punks off of your property if you want to do so, but good luck with that one.

And the reason I call them punks instead of kids is that is what they are.. if kids had any sort of manners or upbringing, once you told them to stay off of your property or told their parents you didn't want to be bothered with them, that would be the last of it. We are living in an entitlement age where everyone thinks they are King Tut and can do as they please. Kids with no manners come from parents with no manners.

Wow you are a waste of oxygen to complain about kids riding sleighs and bikes in their own neighborhood. They only get to be young for a short amount of time. Let them enjoy it. I am glad I didn't grow up with you as a neighbor.

I completely agree! Parents seem to think that their children are perfect and any problems they cause should be not only tolerated, but enjoyed by those who choose not to have children.
Just because someone made the choice to have children, does not mean that I should think they are infallible and allow them to be destructive to my property simply because the parents cannot properly raise their children to have manners and good sense.
The problem isn't ALL children, it sounds to me that his problem is children being destructive to his property, which to be fair, should not be his responsibility since he is not these children's parents.
Also, It seems to me that even you recognize that the problem is the parents, and not the kids.

I'm not complaining about kids riding bikes and sledding in their neighborhood. I am complaining because they don't find an appopriate place to do these things. It looks like the parents would be concerned about their safety if nothing else. Has anyone else noticed that you have to keep to the wrong side of the circle trying to leave the neighborhood because of all the kids hanging out in the middle of the road there? and they cut through the back of my yard and everyone else's instead of walking down the side walk. I made a choice not to have children, yes. and I think asking nicely a dozen times and even putting up signs was enough. I don't want to be bothered by kids and that's why I don't have any of my own. It's not just that either. Parents let their kids play on my property after I have made it very clear I don't want them there and then when they get hurt those same parents will be in court asking me to pay because they got hurt on my property. So, now I'm in debt thousands for a fence I should never have had to install. With some of these kids, it would seem buying a farm would have been more appropriate.

I couldn't agree more!
You self absorbed disrepectful, discutious people with obnoxious kids that act just like you need to reel in your little brats and teach them to respect other's space and property. There's nothing wrong with playing on a low traffic street or riding a bicycle through the community or riding a sled on public property. But when your monsters trespass and disturb someone's privacy the problem is your brat not the property owner. If you don't know how to raise a child then you shouldn't have any because your problem child should not be my problem.

To the original poster, here's what you do. You go find a couple of the biggest 14 year olds you can and pay them a few bucks to sit in your yard. You tell them anytime a punk comes in your yard they are to go start kicking them in the ass untill they leave the property.

Sounds like a bunch of old prunes that need to be a retirement type environment. I always played in my yard growing up but I cannot think of one person living in my neighborhood that would have thrown such a fit had I veered onto their property! Neighborhoods are just as much for children as old , sour grown ups! BTW, sleigh riding in winter does not kill your grass....ITS ALREADY DEAD! SICK AND TIRED of people when they get old, they think they run the neighborhood! Kids cannot go anywhere these days like they could when I was growing up! If they get too far from Mom and Dads sight, some perverted nut will grab them! Its obvious most of the ones posting here do no have children because CHILDREN ARE A BLESSING FROM GOD AND THEY KEEP US YOUNG!

You make it sound as if these kids are breaking in houses and vandalizing the whole neighborhood! They are playing on someones grass for crying out loud!

Try moving to Unicoi County. That's how every neighborhood is there. I lived out a one year lease in Unicoi County and couldn't wait to leave.

It doesn't matter that "children are a blessing from God".. if someone doesn't want your brats on their property, that is THEIR YARD and THEIR RIGHT. There are probably other houses in the neighborhood where kids are welcome. As a matter of fact, if you have kids, you should be inviting them to your house to play with your kids, not expect your neighbors to entertain them. Again, the problem begins with their stupid parents and then filters down... And, I agree with the person above.. let one of these little monsters come onto your yard and get hurt, it's YOUR butt the parents will sue in a heartbeat... I've done my time with my own kids...now, I don't want to be bothered with other people's spawn.

People like you with your complete disrespect and disregard for others, with your I can do whatever I want attitude are exactly the type of a**holes that have turned this country into the garbage pile its become. It doesn't matter if sleigh riding kills grass or not, doesn't matter if the little shits are just playing in the grass or throwing rocks at windows, if the property owner tells you to keep out you stay the hell out. You and your brat's opinions, justifications, excuses, or wants don't matter one damn bit when it comes to my private property only mine does, that is unless you want to start paying my monthly bills and taxes, then you can have a say in things.
Maybe those of us who already did the child rearing bit and are done with it are sick and tired of young disrespectful people like you moving in and disrupting the community, maybe people like you should go move to Disneyland.
You think your hellspawn is a blessing and keeps you young? Good for you, just keep your fountain of youth off my private damn property. It's the respectful and legal thing to do so do it you idiot.

It's no wonder this area is full of disrespectful juvenile drug addicts, vandals, and thieves with morons like you raising children around here.

he's not only complaining about kids being in his yard...he's complaining about having to drive the wrong side of the circle because the kids are in the road there.

does it really disrupt your life having to drive around some kids? how is THAT hurting you?

kids play in the road where i live and not only does nobody care...there's actually a sign right outside my house that says "slow children at play" that was put there by the county i assume. i still tell my kids to stay out of the road, but there are some older kids who ride bikes and it's kind of hard to do that in the grass. big deal. slow down...they'll move...then go on about your miserable business.

Maybe he is hoping that he won't have to go to the police and file some sort of charges. I don't know- I don't live in this subdivision, but from what I see of shiftless parents every day, this would be the normal behavior from folks to just ignore their kids and let them run wild. All I've seen from parents who apparently live there is to argue with this guy and make excuses (like yourself) Also, as an aside.. I had trouble understanding parts of your post. Just sayin'
