I use to love Atlanta bread but its quality had really gone down over the past few years. They started skimping on stuff you use to get with your order and then it started tasting completely different. So it doesn't surprise me that they are closed now.

^ Actually Johnson City doesn't need another restaurant. That is all that is here.. Another restaurant that will probably not last a year or two and pay people 2.13 an hour while charging 14.99 for that "high quality steak" that more than likely has too much fat on it and isn't cooked right.. Yep, you're right,JC needs another mediocre restaurant that pays little and does nothing for the local economy.

The managers signed the contract for 10 years. So they don't want another 10 years.

Dined at the Paragon Diner yesterday and was less than enthused. My friend and I ordered basic dishes - a grilled cheese sandwich with a fruit salad, loaded potato skins, and a salad. After a wait, we were told that our hot dishes were ready, but he was waiting on the salad bc they couldn't figure out whose responisbility it was to make the salad. When the food DID come out, I was presented with a TOASTED cheese sandwich made out of white bread and american cheese, with the fruit served on a hot plate. The Potato skins were ONE potato sliced into 4 wedges and served with MARINARA sauce (quite obviously from a jar). We were told the kitchen was "still learning the menu". Why would it EVER cross someone's mind to serve marinara with potato skins?!?! The grated cheese had not even fully melted on the wedges. One of the WORST dining experiences ever. Not worth the $$$$!!! Will not be returning.

So, you ordered somehting that isn't even on the menu? The cheese sandwich you talked about isn't even a menu option, and thus I can only assume you're an internet troll. I tried it this weekend, and while I can't say I would pass up anywhere else in JC for it (we have better options), I can't say it was bad. The portions were large, and prices are in line with basically anywhere else in town. However, for Greek food I would take Mediterranean Garden any day, for burgers I would go to Salt n' Pepper, and for basically anything else on their menu Cheddars is head and shoulders above Paragon (except maybe the pancakes, those looked amazing).
