Mattie! Miss you pretty!

This is Amanda from training by the way. You helped me with systems! You were awesome and I am happy to see you are doing well!

I left back in March. I'm doing my nursing stuff now so I think I'm better off as well.

Wake up folks. It's a job, not a paying hobby. Nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to work there. Play the game, take the money and move on if you can't stand it. Call center jobs are known to be a bit fly by night, and face the fact........it's not even close to manual labor, so quit your whining!

It might be a job but unemployment seems like a better idea than this place!

People who "whine" about this place on here seem to have some pretty legit reasons behind their discomfort.

Manual labor or not, I bet you get bitched at more here for sitting on your ass than you would with a manual labor job while on your feet.

My cousin is in Rachel's AT&T group, but she said Rachel is a nest Supervisor and floorwalker. She said Rachel is the Sh#t. I have thought about applying there since I just lost my job. My cuz has worked there a year this week, and she likes her job and makes alot of extra money on monthly bonus from AT&T. So who knows, so many mixed opinions but that stands true for all jobs. I mean Try it, if your not satisfied then leave when you have other jobs lined up.:)

I worked there once for about 8 months. Hated every minute of it. I have worked other call centers before, for years and loved them, so I am experienced and know what I'm talking about. This is the least professional, most uncaring place I have ever seen. Their training is VERY Substandard and does not even teach you several of the basics of your job. They typically cut training short by DAYS and throw you on the phones, ready or not! I quit the first time because the supervisors were coming in to work HIGH on drugs they were using in the parking lot, right before work, in plain view of the employees. Then they yelled and screamed at everyone all night. The cursing at everyone while screaming at them just became too much, no matter how badly I needed the job. This was in Gray.** They have hired people even when they KNEW they didn't have enough empty seats to hold everyone, and also knew that many of their computers and phones did not work, at many of the seats that they did have. I tried to go back and work for them a second time and had to quit, because the training class before mine were all literally waiting HOURS just to get an open seat and be able to clock in and work for the last part of their shift, whatever was left of it, and they were all full time, but getting barely part time hours due to the lack of working equipment and overhiring. They have such a HIGH turnover rate that they were deliberately overhiring so they could keep their available seats filled, so they wouldn't lose the contract. This was at their downtown location. I had to leave just to find a full time job where I got the chance to work all of my scheduled hours.** Third strike was when I tried to go back last month. I heard they had a new manager and had cleaned up things and gotten stricter, so I decided to give them 1 final chance. This was in Gray. First of all, our training period, which was given in writing, started 2 days late. Then it ended 3 days early, because HR double-scheduled our trainer to start the next training class 3 days before our was scheduled to end. We had a floor supervisor take over and baby-sit us until time to review for our test and then go to the call floor. We had never even been shown how to notate an account after we talked to a customer. A Mandatory Job Requirement of their client!! We also went to the phones without ever being shown how to use the phones themselves. About 1/3 of training class was play time and goof-off(down)time, so we lost a lot of time that we could have used to have learned all of this stuff! On the floor, people clocked in and out and even left and went home whenever they felt like leaving, with no notice to their supervisors. Some people didn't show up to work 1 or 2 days a week and nothing was said to them. They used cell phones on the floor (which was SUPPOSED to be immediate termination) and they let it slide. They let people violate and disregard every "RULE they had given us and did nothing to the people about it. Our class of 30 trainees was down to 5 people in only 3 weeks. They are so desperate to keep people working there, that they let the reps walk all over the managers and do whatever they want without write-ups or firing them. I left because after our training was cut short by a total of 5 days, and we didn't know much of the basics we needed to even take calls, I didn't know how to answer the customers questions or where to look for answers, because they had not prepared us and shown us what we needed to know to do our jobs. I quit out of frustration, because it was like a kindergarten the way that reps were acting and playing around, and goofing off, and being allowed to get away with all of it. Nobody took the job seriously. They even had people sleeping during training class and they did nothing about it. They didn't care if you knew how to do the job right or not. It's a paycheck if you can breathe, show up, and don't care about what you are supposed to be doing.

UPDATE / Continuation to my last comment - I would not send my WORST ENEMY to work at ACT, at either location in JC or Gray, unless I really wanted to teach them a lesson that they'd never forget! You're better off picking up trash along the interstate in 100 degree weather than this place. I'll never go back again!! I hate working fast food, but I'd RUN to McDonald's 3 miles in a thunderstorm to get to work a 10 hour shift, before I'd waste my time on a clear day to drive to ACT to work only 4 hours. I'd be 10 times happier at the end of the day, between the two. You just can't imagine what it is like to work around "adults" that act and talk like they failed everything since kindergarten, and must have come to work either HIGH or drunk from the way they smell and behave. I can't believe that their clients allow these kinds of people to take customer service calls for their customers, without pulling the plug on the contract immediately and going elsewhere to find true professionals to handle the job, the way that it is supposed to be done. But then again, in BOTH cases, when I was at Gray, the client was the same - Bank of America. They have a bad reputation for treating their customers poorly over the phone. Now the WORLD will know why - it's ACT and their bottom basement, low standards for hiring anything living and moving off of the street and keeping them on, and letting go of any decent candidates that happen to wander in from time to time, not knowing what the place is really all about, or what it's like to try to work there. Those are the ones that leave before they get half way through training. The remaining ones are either worthless, useless, or extremely desperate for a paycheck, at least until McDonald's calls them back to hire them into something much more glamorous - entry level fast food work.

i have worked at act for almost 3 years (5/26). the place is every bit as bad as all the comments on here and worse. i have witnessed so much shit up in boones creek it aint even funny. new ppl on the floor on their cell phone with a slap on the wrist and veterans who are the best employees do the same thing and get fired. boa finally changed their pay policy. they now pay per phone call as some of the employees have taken it upon themselves to tell the bigwigs that come in from time to time about how it really happens up there. boa has told the dept directors to not double skill the employees for more than one dept and act dont give a shi* about it. they would prefer to double skill the ppl so they take more calls and act gets paid more money. they dont respect their employees. they prefer to treat them like shi* and then threaten to fire them when anything is said. the ppl that get promotions usually (not always some deserve it) kiss ass like others have said literally. i used to love my job. had great sups and ops managers and then that project tanked because the dept manager was recorded on an employees call cussing another person and boa listened to it. you couldnt even hear the rep that was taking the phone call. all you could hear was that dept manager cussing an employee. the new project im on is great if they keep me on that dept. they double train the employees for 2+ depts and then expect them to keep up with all the changes they make. act stands for always changing things and thats what they are known for, changing things on short notice and not telling you about new quality fails until you get failed for it. its a paycheck thats why i stay. once i find something else out here that will hire me with having act on my resume i will leave. point blank i aint kissing no ass. if you cant tell the good ppl you have and treat them how they deserve to be treated then u shudnt be running a dept or team or a site or anything.
