Marajuana is illegal in Tennessee for the following reasons :

1) because Jack Daniels is the single largest contributor to Ron Ramsey and other state level officials. Liquor consumption would be horribly less if Marajuana was legal.

2) prisons would be too empty. Sate level officials, like Ramsey, are being romanced by some thugs near Nashville to privatize the PRISON INDUSTRY.
A) the reduction of prisoners both now and in the future brought about by legalizing pot would be devastating to those who republican lawmakers depend upon for re-election and who knows what else.
B) overcrowding would not occur in prisons and thereby release DANGEROUS criminals. Whenever it's reported that a repeat offender committed ANOTHER violent crime, the public demands more prisons. It never occurs to them to reduce the number of prisoners. And you guessed it. Ramsey and his friends eat lunch once a week with the guys that build the prisons. Legalizing Marajuana would be crippling to the prison building industry.

3) it's simply not something that benefits those who don't use it, and those who don't profit from it. A state lawmaker is internally opposed to anything until it somehow benefits him or her or them.

Look at it this way: the state gets money from the federal government to house prisoners.$92 Million Of that money ended up in the pocket of Electolux for absolutely NO REASON whatsoever. They just handed it over to them. And who eats lunch and gets campaign contribution from Electrolux?

Motives. Don't listen to what a local state lawmaker says. Watch what he does. There is always an agenda. They hardly even hide it any more. David Hawk of Greeneville was re-elected last week, 10 days before he goes on trial for beating up his wife. Ron Ramsey takes money from Jack Daniels to protect their interests. DUH......

I have no problem with legalizing pot. Grow it, sell it and tax the hell out of it.

Politicians don't want to tackle the subject.

It's better for them to ignore it as in a can't win/can't lose scenario.

Two states have now legalized it. There's not enough federal cops to enforce the federal laws.

Eventually, more states will legalize it and overwhelm the government just the way prohibition ended.

Also in my opinion and what I have came to understand of our current shit government body, is that if they cannot tax something all the way and other citizens, are capable of making decent sums of money, then they wont no part of it.

I insist upon the point of there are LOTS of people, who are able to grow super quality product and in quite a large bulk. This is the reason in my opinion the government has such a massive "Crutch" against marijuana and they know they could not cover every dealers sales. Its beyond pathetic in my eyes, that if no matter the economic powerhouse or how helpful the matter, the government WILL condemn it, if they cannot control and tax the output. Or at least have a major input into its distribution.

Lots of people who would disagree, would say how come they allow liquor, beer, and wine to be sold?

Well this is kind of easy if you think of terms of money like they do. I mean yes anyone can produce liquor and make some very high quality product, but they cannot do so on a massive production value of a distillery though. Thats why you see the 3 main alcohol sources running rampant across america. They know they can control the flow and tax the shit out of it and have a say in the end game also.
For anyone who ever downs marijuana or thinks it is a horrible drug, they are sadly misinformed or like the majority of the population, have just been told its bad, so they assume it is.

Lets look at the benefits of marijuana vs alcohol...

Alcohol : Some say its good for the blood cells and heart. I say its complete bullshit, but aye lets give it to them. Thats just about all the "good" I can really find about the source.
The Bad : Creates more deaths in one week, than all drug use, abuse, and death related drug usage in general combined. Liver failure, automobile accidents, general accidents, domestic violence, and this does not count and is personal opinion, it can make you a completely different person all together.

Marijuana

The Good : Hemp is the strongest natural strand of "rope" known to man. THC oil cures CANCER, yes it cures cancer, not suppression of the cancer. Helps ease pain, nausea, arthritis, cataract s & general vision issues, inspires creativity pendent on the "strand" of the "grow, and actually many other positive effects.

The Bad : Certain "strands" can absolutely slow down brain activity. Hackysack. Thats about all that I could find or have seen.

There are 0 known deaths from any form of marijuana inductions. That is from pill form, actual form, and synthetic forms.
With those general outlines, does anyone EVER wonder how come marijuana is illegal in the first place. I believe from what has been stated above by others and my general observances, the main question should be simple...

Why is marijuana NOT allowed everywhere?

Take Care - No I do not partake anymore, I have been quit for many of years now, not by any affliction, I just personally stopped caring for the feeling, after learning of how good it is, everywhere else besides this region

I have been pretty adamant against legalizing marijuana for many years. But, after futher thought, I say we eliminate all drug laws, rely on personal respnsibility, and let the chips fall where they may.

The ones who use drugs to excess already will eventually eliminate themselves from our society and the ones who simply want to use for personal pleasure can pay for my eventual retirement through tax revenues.

Win, win!!!!!!
