WOW! where to start, My father in law brought two guns to be worked on to this pathetic excuse of a EMPORIUM (LOL), the moment we entered the guy started cracking really tasteless jokes and I new I would not leave my weapons with him,'
My Dad left a Remington 30-06 that needed a new cocking piece, and an old 410 that needed a spring, he left them before Christmas and was told that he had a gun show and he would not be able to work on them till Jan 15th, OK no problem!
Skip the page, in March he was told we would come and get them if they were done or not.
We went to pick them up three months after they were droped off
He charged $210 ,(wanted cash only) but charged an extra 6% to accept a credit card, cause he has no PHONE service and has to call it in.
My dad asked him to chamber and extract three rounds to check function because he did not test fire, He did and he aimed the ejection port at my dad (intentionally) and pulled the bolt violently and hit him with the round,(LIVE)
He then proceeded to explain how we were so lucky he could find the part and that there were none left in america and he was soooooo great that he helped us YADA YADA YADA,
well rifle now does not have its original bolt, he charged $50 labor to release and slide in a used replacement bolt,
This story can go on and on I completely agree with the other comments
I found the part we needed at Numeric gun parts for $6, or an entire new bolt for $55, if we wanted a non original bolt, we could have slid this one in and saved $150
. This man Is nothing more than a snake oil salesman, He has no shop, no inventory no emporium, and No personality, DO NOT LET HIM TOUCH YOUR WEAPON HE WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!

I've bought a Mossberg 500 cruiser,a Mossberg 500 Persuader,a Magnum Research BFR 500 mag,a Steyr M9a1,A CZ75P07 40 and a Ruger GP100 38 from Monte's Gun Emporium. He undersells just about anyone. He talks to the customer, wouldn't you? It is a small shop but his' inventory comes in a day or two from the huge Davidson's warehouse or from other gun sellers that send the guns to him for you.He doesn't charge a lot per purchase. He charges me 3% for using a credit card,i always use a credit card.Sometimes he's not in to work because of gunshows or for health reasons but when your gun is ready he will call you.I wouldn't demonize Monte like doomed did.As a matter of fact i'll be expecting a call from him in a day or two,got a Polish excellent condition 7.62x25 pistol comming in from ClassicArms.com .Want to save money? Buy from Monte,it's not like he's satan or anything.

Now that's an endorsement if I've ever heard one. He should put that on his signs.

I went to this gun shop today to discuss buying an AR 15 upper receiver to put on a stripped lower I had bought from another gun shop. He basically told me that I got ripped off by the other local gun dealer and the lower receiver I bought was worthless. Then he told me that it was due to my own stupidity for buying it because I didn't "research" the product and buy one of his guns! They then tried to sell me one of their completed guns. He also told me that if I tried to build my own AR 15 I would end up crawling back to his shop and wind up paying $60/hour for him to finish it. I wouldn't let this guy do anything to my guns after hearing some of these other reviews about his "gunsmithing" skills. He thinks everything he has is amazing and trash talks all the other local gun shops in the area. Then to top it all off it was right around closing time and told me that he needed to get home and had a lot of stuff to put up and basically showed me the door.

I just bought two guns from this guy at a gun show in Knoxville. I was very impressed with his professional attitude. I talked to him for over an hour about the pistols he had for sale. Very informative. I bought a 40 cal pistol. And a 308 rifle. Both are great. Will buy more guns forum him in the future.

I've had 2 friends take guns in there for work. The first was a simple reblueing job. He turned up happy.

The other was an older friend of mine. He has a 1903 with the Pederson cut. It was a gift of years ago to him. He wanted it rebarreled. Monty ordered an A3 barrel for it. It wouldn't fit just right so he whittled on the stock to make it fit. Now my buddy has a jacked up rifle that he was charged more for than the original quote.

What a JOKE! I went to this so called emporium a few months back. There were no guns of any kind any where. He said he was getting ready for the Gun Show. I have been in other local gun stores that go to gun shows and they have plenty of stock. He repeatedly used tho Lords name in vein, then when I left he said God Bless. Then when he moved to the new location, I thought I would give it another shot. I was waiting for a friend in the parking lot to go in, and the owner came out and said this was no hang out and ran me off. I tried explaining to him I was waiting on a friend and potentional customer. He still ran me off and said he was calling the police. I am not judging the guy, but do not think he cares or has any buissness abilities. The only reason I give him 1 star is there is no choice for zero stars.

Monte's is a good place to get your online gun orders shipped, if you can catch him there (always closed it seems)and you can put up with not really feeling welcomed when you come in. I wouldn't let him work on my guns, but then again I work on all of my own.

I bought a Jimenez Gun 9 mm that is made in Las Vegas Nv. from Monte's Gun Emporium at a Knoxville Tn gun show. The owner will rip you off they don't stand behind what they sell and when you take the gun back to them due to it fell apart when the hand grips are removed and all the springs fly off and I had to drive over 150 miles due to you have to send it back to manufacture to have it put back together and this has to be done through a gun dealer. The owner will call you a lire and accuse you of yelling and cussing him when you did not, he will not refund your money either all he sells is JUNK.
