Whiskey, what's your problem? You seem to think you know a lot about the place. Did you ever work there? Did you stay sober long enough to pull your time? Sounds like you have a grudge going on.

And on what authority do you base this opinion? Ever worked there temp or permanent or are you just basing your thoughts on what you may have heard? Please explain your view. Inquiring minds want to know. I'm not picking on you, I just want to know how and why you developed this opinion.

Folks, now is the time to apply there. A plant in Canada is closing down, the workload is being shifted back to the good ol'e USA and from what I hear, the place is going to be very busy. I do agree, they somehow manage to work temps beyond the limits, but now is the time to try to get on board. What have you got to lose? For a temp agency, the pay is still ok. If you get on permanently the pay and benefits are excellent. S*** or get off the pot!
Update: From what I'm hearing some snafu with a new corporate inventory administrator and the request from Lowe's has resulted in a deficit of thousands of tanks needed for Lowe's. More or less, they are behind on supplying Lowe's and are cranking up to meet the demand. A great time to apply. Wow, the place is working overtime like crazy!

Yep, nine hour days and most Saturdays. If you work a Saturday double time.

Hey, what have you heard as far as how long the overtime will last? I've heard up until October, but that's just rumor(?). It's kinda rough, but the money sure is good! Keep in mind it is a contract year and who knows what to expect? I'm glad to have a job there, even if I'm getting too old to cut the muster!

Let me get out my crayons and illustrate for you. The temps work for Adecco. They are paid according to Adecco's wage system, not American water Heater's. Only when you become permanent, ie: employed by American Water Heater do you get their benefits.

I guess your crayon broke dumbass because Adecco is no longer there. Staffmark is the temp service in there now. And if you work on Sat you should make the same wages for the same work, temp or not. Just another fine example of a company taking advantage of temp workers.

My mistake, Staffmark/Adecco, but let me try to put this in terms even YOU can understand: You work for the temp agency, not the parent company. Should they pay you the same wage as the parent company? That would be nice, but if that were the case, why use a temp agency? Sure, companies take advantage of avoiding hiring by using temps. But then again, how would you feel if you got hired right off the bat and laid off 90 days later? I am opposed to the temp agency set up, but you have to be realistic. Since NASA pays excellent wages, by your theory everyone who works anywhere should be paid NASA wages!

I have no theory only life experiences. If AWH told you upfront it would only be a few months work it would be fine but they lie and say you will be hired within 90 days if you have good work ethics. Many have worked close to a year and been let go. How would you like to lose your job tomorrow without any warning? That rocket scientist job you think you have was just filled by someone else. And yes, if one rocket scientist works on Sat. and gets paid double time, we all should. Make it fair for everyone.

Using temp hires saves an employer a ton of money because they don't have to provide any company benefits such as health insurance. There are also tax advantages gained by using temps. State and federal wage laws (NOT the employer) dictate who is eligible for overtime pay. Like it or not, temp hires are not considered equal to permanent tenured employees.

The correct phrase is "cut the MUSTARD". Look it up.

Thank you for your smartass remark. But if you will do a little more in depth research you will find that the original term was indeed "cut the muster", the origin being whether a person was fit for battle service, dating back to the revolutionary war. As time has passed we have adopted the term "cut the mustard"..........kinda like back when gay meant happy and coke was a soft drink. Anyhow, I think we all know what it means. And for the record, you don't cut mustard, you pick it by hand, being careful not to pull it up by the roots. Have a nice day and don't confuse "cutting the cheese" with your obvious lack of what it means either!

Does anyone know anything about the older blonde in tank department. She is on 2nd shift. There is no way you can miss her if you ever worked back there. I worked there a few months ago and was wondering if she is still there.

You mean you worked there for months and don't even know her name? You are right, she's hard to be missed, a very attractive lady. But she's a very nice gal and doesn't need to be stalked! She's way out of your league.
