Sheriffs race should be interesting - Ford would not be any better than Graybeal as proven in past fe w years with Jonesborough Police Department. Jonesborough is overstaffed with Bob Browning and Craig Ford nearly duplicating positions not to mention Uncle Dale Ford has created position. Thanks Kelly Wolfe for tax and spending.
Commission race to be aware of as of now are the 2nd district where county employee for tax assessor (Robert MCGuire is running, 1st district Washington County Deputy is running. 7th district finds a newcomer Bryan Davenport who is said to be banked by Mark
Larkey. Davenport will likely be someone's puppet. Larkey is on county health insurance which is reason enough to vote him out. 8th district should return Steve Light one of the few commissioners with common sense.
School board 1st district should return Jack Leonard and Keith Ervin. School board 3rd district should return William Brinkley and David Hammond. Clarence Mabe and newcomer Mick Masters have no children or grandchildren in system. Masters is the one who pushed his way into Boosters 6 years ago and makes income off school sports-wonder why he is running?
County Mayor's race incumbent Dan Eldridge should easily defeat Michael Rutherford. Rutherford tries to blame Mayor for discontent surrounding County Commission when actually the blame goes to commissioners operating county government without being questioned.
Encourage people to register to vote, ask questions and look into candidates before voting.

Tennessee House election with Phil Carriger and Matthew Hill. Too early to to predict and hoping for another candidate. House race 6th district there is really not a decent choice-HELP!

Aww, it all boils down and renders the same old thing, that being the the usual suspects. Throw them all in a bucket and pick one out. Chance are they will be just as crooked as the competition. When it is all said and done, your predictions are about as reliable as betting on any other game. Don't get me wrong, you are most likely correct, but it is really just the same old stuff. Each candidate has a self serving stake in it. We just vote against one over the other.

How many years has Mabe served and why does a man with no kids want to be on school board. Masters and Mabe do not have kids. Why be on school board now. The only one with kids is Brinkly.

Both Graybeal and Mabe have been in office way too long. Term limits of eight years should be enough. This Mick Masters running for school board and making money from concessions and school events sounds like a conflict of interest. Not that it would matter to anyone in this area as long as it envolved sports.

It's Mike Masters not Mick. Mikes kids are out of school. He must be running because he and Danny Good are close. They both busted boosters up and took over concessions. How much money does he and his family make working on concessions and Danny the tournaments. We now know Danny lied about His relationship with current girl friend. So how can we trust Mike who is heavily involved?

These fine upstanding men are who we have influencing our students at Daniel a Boone. Adultery, alcohol, profanity, principal who could care less because he lives an hour away and close to retirement. These boys are pushing Davenport to run for commission, Masters who is banking money off the backs of students and parents, and rumored to be pushing for a Scott Saylor or Scott Utsman who will be a lapdog for Good. This crew wants the Christian men Brinkley and Hammond to go home. Davenport is trying to replace Ford or Nave. We need people who are moral and care.

I am always amazed with the hypocrites attending church while during the week drinking with their friends screwing around or those who bow down.

How long does this select group think they can keep their political game going? We are on to them. The walls are already starting to show some cracks.

Hammond has made more of a difference on this school board than anyone. He knows more ways and more people in Nashville than anyone. He can and has gotten things done. Hope he runs again. If not , wash co is hurting

I wish Mabe had that athletic facility shoved up his a** it's not all about sports it's about our children learning.Spend the money on teachers and instructional assistants to help the kids learn. Sports should come last. Kids can't even study properly because of sports with all the try outs and practices doesn't give them a whoe lot of time to study they are up way to late and the state wants good scores haha. We need get rid of Mabe,Silvers, Williams even Dykes we all know what he does. You can't even get job from him unless you flirt and have big boobs. I think it's a disgrace how he sneaks in back doors of the schools to see his mistresses. He is beig watched.

Sounds like you know what's really going on. It would be great if you would run for school board to clean things up. You have your priorities straight and you would have my vote!

If the teachers made $ 20,000 a year more the children would not benefit. I sure hope you are not a teacher. If so I have discovered the reason our educational system is failing.

Studies have shown the reason US schools are failing compared to other industrialized countries, is the amount of money spent on athletics and other non academic areas. Spend the money on student's learning and let teachers have a voice in how the money is spent. There is too much wasteful spending and non academic positions that need to go. I only hope this IS a teacher who may become politically active to make a change! BTW if you paid teachers $20,000 more a year, they would spend half of that on their classroom providing for their students!
