Eric Holder’s gotta go.
Eric Holder, tied with Janet Reno for the worst Attorney General ever award, is going to be Obama’s fall guy. And it won’t be because TEApublicans are crying foul.
This from that bastion of conservative thought, the Washington Post:
Attorney General Eric Holder is not up to the task
By David Ignatius Opinion Writer, Washington Post
http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/david-...
“People are looking for the wrong “scandal” about Attorney General Eric Holder. The problem with Holder is the plain fact that, in the judgment of a wide range of legal colleagues, he has been a mediocre attorney general.”
OUCH! Wow THAT smarts! Especially coming from a libiberal.
“Holder’s mistakes in management and judgment are clear in the current controversy about leak investigations.”
A HARD left jab.
“and he failed utterly to anticipate the political flap that erupted when Justice informed the Associated Press that it had collected the call records for more than 20 phone lines.”
And another left.
“Holder substitutes his political judgment for his legal judgment, and his political judgment isn’t very good”
A HUGE left uppercut!
“Holder’s Justice Department has been quick to jump on the bandwagon of politically popular prosecutions, sometimes with disastrous results.”
They just keep coming!
“The criminal prosecutions of BP executives involved in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill drew political applause, but they have been a legal mess. A judge threw out much of the indictment of BP executive David Rainey last month because of insufficient evidence, and criminal cases against two BP rig supervisors also look shaky.”
How can he put up with much more of this punishment?
“Part of the attorney general’s job is clearing political obstacles to allow effective law enforcement. Here, too, many attorneys fault Holder. A classic example was the plan to prosecute 9/11 plotter Khalid Sheik Mohammed in a civilian court in New York. Holder made what many regard as the right decision to try the case there. But he hadn’t done the necessary political groundwork among New York and national politicians, and when a political firestorm ignited, he reversed his decision.”
Another left uppercut. I’m afraid it’s all but over, folks.
“Feckless” is the word one disappointed Washington legal insider uses to describe this and other Holder decisions.”
How can anyone survive this pummeling?
“President Obama talks about his desire to improve the performance of the federal bureaucracy so that citizens can believe in government again. The Justice Department is one of the areas where this standard matters most.
But under Holder, it just hasn’t been met. That’s the real scandal here — tolerance of mediocre performance.”
It ain’t over until the fat lady sings, folks, but she’s tunin’ up.
Your erection over this will not result in climax -- even if Holder goes, Obama will remain.

It is going to be hard for Republicans to make a case that the President ordered the slow walking of 501C4 applications, when the head of the agency was a Republican Bush appointee.
I believe Bob Gates was a good Secretary of Defense, who served the President and this country well, and the Republican Transportation Secretary was one of the few in the administration who came to the defense of the President when the stimulis was being attacked unmercifully by the right wing of the Republican Party. On these appointments, I think Obama came out a winner.
Wasn't Shulman a Democrat?? "According to Federal Election Commission records, Shulman in 2004 donated $500 to the Democratic National Committee." In the name of "bipartisanship" he was appointed maybe???

When Bush gave himself the power to "legally" spy on Americans, he ceded that authority to Obama. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now; however, I don't recall ANY conservatives complaining about it then. I specifically recall Rush Limbaugh agreeing with a dramatic, crying caller when she stated "What good are Civil Liberties if you're dead?!" They were assuring us that if the president DIDN'T listen to our phone calls, we'd all undoubtedly die at the hands of terrorists.
Funny how a single election can completely reverse a conservative's ideals.
Fyi dumbass, the same can be said for liberals.

Really? It is also unbelievable that the decidedly right leaning are also broke? I delete several emails a week like the one below:

Dear ,
I did not come to Washington, D.C. simply to make the trains run on time and protect the status quo. The status quo is broken. I came to speak out against government bullies, against attacks on our liberties – and for freedom.
I came to fight back. And right now, I have no greater ally helping me fight back than Matt Kibbe and FreedomWorks.
That’s why I’m working with FreedomWorks to raise $150k in the next 12 days., can I count on your support?

Together we can stop the Big Government agenda and turn the tide in favor of freedom. But I need you to support FreedomWorks to make that happen.
, if we’re going to win, we need patriots like you to stand up and show your support.
If you read Matt’s email from Monday, you know FreedomWorks is hard at work defending your rights and stopping Obama’s attacks on Our Liberties. Please join me in this effort and chip in $15,$35,$50 or more today.
In Liberty,

Rand Paul
P.S. if you haven’t already, read Matt’s e-mail below!
__________
Dear Patriot,
The Obama Administration is on the ropes. The scandals of the last few weeks have made them vulnerable. This is our time to stop them, take the momentum, and take control. If we don’t seize this opportunity right now, we may never get it back.
FreedomWorks is on an all-out push to raise the funds necessary to take advantage of this opportunity and stop the Progressive Machine. In the next 14 days we must raise at least $150,000 to Stop the Obama Agenda. With your support, we will keep the Obama Administration on the ropes and stop the Left from radically transforming our country.
Patriot, your generous gift will mobilize millions of citizens to stop the Progressive Left-Wing Agenda.

Right now Obama and his allies are on the defensive. The tide is beginning to turn and it is critical that we and our community of more than 6 million fiscal conservatives stay decisively on the offense. That’s why I am asking you to consider making a donation of $15,$35,$50 or more to help us leverage this opportunity and save the country that we hold so dear.
Patriot, donate to stop Obama’s Agenda right now!
If we don’t seize this opportunity, the media will cover up the scandals and Obama will be back on track. If you donate right now we can ensure that Conservatives stay on the offensive and that we hold the line for Liberty in 2013.
So Patriot, will you pitch in $15,$35,$50 or more right now to stop Barack Obama’s Progressive Agenda?
For the last five years the Obama Administration has been trampling both the Constitution and the American people, and right now is our chance to stop it.
Our future depends on you.
In Liberty,

Matt Kibbe

Ah, but OA, it works both ways. Your erection over Obama will not result in a climax either -- even though your choice as President has been in office for the past 5 years, you are no better off than when he started.

Regarding Holder, snakes don't deserve to hold any office, no matter what party they are affiliated with.

No better off? I wish we were simply "no better off".

Since this guy's been in charge, poverty has hit a 52-year high and is on the rise.

But what do you expect from an administration that defines 23,116,441 households on food stamps a triumph. A success.

The other day one of the more open minded posters ridiculed "Trickle Down economics". What this administration has given us is Trickle UP Poverty.

We lost over 800,000 jobs the last month Bush was in office. What did we gain last month? 200,000? Not as many as we need, but positive is still better than negative.

200,000? No you’re off by 12%. But then why be accurate. The Labor Department certainly isn’t. In the small print of the report, they revised the number of jobs added in April lower to 149,000 from 165,000.

And what about those new jobs?

26,000 were attributed to temporary help agencies. That’ll help build a solid economic foundation. What does the company you work for do with its temps?

We also added 38000 high paying burger flipper jobs. Maybe that’s Obama’s plan to lower the number of food stamp recipients. Most restaurants give workers free food.

Of course, only in Obamaville could the creation of jobs result in a higher unemployment rate.

<quoted text> Good morning my friend ! You know, I got that same basic answer from a lot of Republicans when I was mad as heck that the Bush Administration wanted access to what books I borrow at the public library. They asked me what I was reading that I didn't want the government to know about. Well, I wasn't reading anything that I didn't want them to know about, BUT that was exactly the point. I am a citizen of these United States, and as such, I have a right to privacy. I have committed no crime, and my book borrowings and my phone conversations are (and should be) none of anyone's business but mine. I shouldn't have to prove each time that I borrow a book from the library or each time I use the phone or send an e-mail that I am not a terrorist. Sure we can sit on our hands and say the loss of privacy is worth it for the security it provides...until one day when it isn't. If we are forced to live in a police state to keep us safe, those terrorists have won not just the battle, but the war. Our citizens were so rattled by what happened on 911 that we allowed our President to go to war in a country that had nothing to do with the attack, to engage in torture of prisoners, to use rendition to get information, to open an offshore prison where people can be detained indefinately without due process, all in the name of safety. Now we find that the Obama Administration has been collecting phone information on all of us (and the Good Lord knows what else) for years. This ALL seems decidedly unamerican to me, and I am not about to change my mind on any of it simply because Obama is President instead of Bush.
That's my take and I look forward to your comments.
I too, was outraged by Bush's "library Policy", mostly because I didn't then, and still don't, know what they were looking for. I wanted to know as much about our Attackers as possible and their stated Motives, in the aftermath of 911...and had I not gotten that information from other Sources, I would probably have been one of the People who would have headed to the Library, to try and find answers to my questions.
Until this day, I still don't know if they were looking for People of Middle Eastern descent, who may have used the Library for information to use in their Terrorist Attacks, present and future...or if they thought the Terrorists had American Accomplices.
But, it should have been evident to anybody, that the Terrorists already had all the information they needed to form their Plan and carry it out...and that all of it was easily accessible online, and available in many different Countries.
So, I guess that it wasn't the violation of my Privacy about my reading material that incensed me, as much as it was that I felt they were just wasting valuable time for no apparent reason, and I didn't see what worthwhile information could be gained from it...and that, made me wonder if they were just using the Terrorist Attacks to spy on Americans, for no apparent reason.
I also, think that it has "shades" of Hitler's Tactics associated with it, and at a time when the American People were already scared and confused , as to what was really going on , and why...the timing of the "Library" fiasco, was extremely bad.

I just keep thinking about the Boston Bombers and would there have been something in their "communications" with Others, that could have prevented what they did, if we hadn't missed it? As far as has been published , we still don't know , for sure.
Have they pulled all of their phone and internet communucations, both in and out of the U.S., and gone over what was said? We don't know. And if they haven't , why haven't they? Is it such a massive amount of worthless material from all U.S. Residents, that the whole Program, that we have spent an enormous amount of money to set up, actually useless, when we need to pinpoint a particular Person or Group of People? I wonder! Or, is it just an excuse, to be used for sinister purposes?

You know OA, I can easily state there have been some good conservative presidents and there have been some that weren't so good. The same goes for liberal presidents. There have been some good ones, and some not so good. But according to most of the liberals on this thread, there is no such thing as a bad liberal president. Look back in time, there have been some bad presidents and it wouldn't have mattered which political party they were affiliated with. I our country wants a liberal president, so be it. Just make sure it is a good liberal president. We don't have that now. This president wouldn't be a good leader affiliated with any party.

I've noticed when that 800,000 jobs lost in Bush's last month in office fact is brought up, conservatives never comment on it. Their comments are invariably focused on either "Um...um...Obama sucks," or "Bush isn't in office anymore."

It's truly sad that so many conservatives seem upset that more Americans aren't out of work so they can have more reason to rail about Obama.
