my son has become caught in the pain pill trap. Are there any (good) resources in this area for someone who has "no insurance" to help him stop this crap. I am desperate I have already lost three young people in my family to this s*** in the last 7 years. I don't want my son to be the next !!!!

Do not rely on other people to fix your son's problems. Best solution is to take the role yourself and show the love he has probably never gotten. Most people with addiction problems have or are missing some type of parental love and care in their lives. Good luck

Easy. Don't over complicate it. In johnson city under watauga physicians or something. There is a dr Crutchfield. Under him is a dr laura (and her last name is something polish) grabowski or something. It's on Princeton just off north roan,

Make an appt ASAP . It's $325 and she writes a script for 90 pieces of 8mg film assuming your son will need three per day. Right next door is the pharmacy. Each film is $7 so $7 times 90 is $630. The script is good for six months so you can get ten and 20 at a time if you must.

You keep the films. He doesn't need three per day. He needs a quarter of one per day. 90 pieces will last him almost a year. He can taper off easily over the year ...

Withdrawal is hell on earth. I don't even drink. Broke my leg four years ago. BAMM addicted overnight because Ron Ramsey and the GD senators are in with the pain pill manufacturers and they made Tennessee number one in pain pill addiction. Now they even fight the solution. It's called suboxone.

I tapered off without the first problem. Never actually went the withdrawals. Know another person who took the three a day and he's a million miles from getting off of them...that's the senators too... They work for satan.

90 pieces last a year. You already fell into the senators net once. Don't fall again. Only give him 1/4 of one piece per day. There's no high. Just makes you normal. The senators don't want normal. Did I mention that they work for satan????

Problem solved...

thanks for your info. I will talk to him about it. But I DO NOT want him to just substitute one addiction for another. I want him OFF everything!!

I hear what your saying. and you aren't totally wrong. I wasnt the best father for him growing up. I was in a very bad accident that screwed up my head for years. And I myself was on large doses of C2' and C3 pain meds for a long time. And I try to show him love now but the drugs are kind of running his mind and emotions. But I AM TRYING to help him!

Of course you're trying to help. Above, one of the people says that many of us addicts (I'm one) were missing love ,........ Facts is that 13-1/2 % of the population have it (Caucasians) and that's just the way it is.

Whether he got it from a lack of love or off a toilet seat doesn't matter. He has it. It don't matter what bus he came in on. On planet earth, the America Indian has the highest rate of OCCURANCE . It used to be illegal to give a drink to an Indian and that's why. It genetic.

We must work together to overcome it. And without any assistance from state senators , we have to overcome our addiction and elected officials that the same time. I might as well have aPhd in this stuff. I respect the medical community because they are truly trying to help, but 1) many of them don't know what to do. A non-addict cannot help an addict, in general terms. One addict helping another is without parallel. And 2) the same state senators (Ron Ramsey) that led us into pain pill addiction is now trying to block the means of getting off the pain pills. He is nothing more than a lobbyist for the drug dealers.

I'm willing to do anything to help your son. If it would serve the purpose I would leave my office right now to come to your home. But I can't be anymore dedicated then HIM.

If I give my three decades of experience and time and often money towards someone's survival and they go at it with half measures, I am forced to move on to someone who is moe willing to follow direction. Your son may not have hit rock bottom yet.

The first thing I need to know is what and how much is he taking daily. I have to chuckle when the "enabler" says "IM NOT SURE THAT HE IS TAKING IT DAILY"..... Hallelujah. We have found our first "half addict". Sorry to seem so coy. I am serious about caring.

He has to want help and he has to follow direction that sis contrary to every notion that he has. And guess what dad. SO DO YOU....

YOU NEED HELP. REGARDLESS IF YOUR SON GETS HELP OR NOT. YOU DO. LIVING WITH AN ADDICT HAS VERY SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES. Alanon is for you. They hold regular meeting for groups of people in your exact situation, wanna help your son and yourself. GO TONIGHT ,,,,,,,,!!

The next step is what and how much is your son taking. You can say on here. There is no legal consequences to either of you for you to say on this forum.....

Best wishes, truly

I would suggest getting your son to voluntary go into treatment that is at least six months. The Bristol lighthouse is a good treatment center that is Christian based.

Before you call someone an "imbisil", you should learn how to correctly spell the word so you won't look like an IMBECILE.

Find him a place to live in Kingsport. He'll fit right in with everyone else.

If he doesn't want to help himself, even if you force him clean, he'll go back.. seen it time and time again.. you can't help those that don't want help.. best of luck to you and your situation.

You need alanon, not topix. Go. They know what to tell you to do. They have 60 years of experience. Get your son on suboxone only not the full dose. He can ween off easily.

I hope you find help for your son but it's hard to find and rarely works even when they want help. I've also lost loved ones and have others going down the same path. I've seen ppl on the 'other' drugs and haven't seen it help even once so I wouldn't try it. I guess I'm not much help except I wanted to say don't blame yourself because no matter how much you love them they make their own decisions so don't blame yourself. Good luck
