Your dad must be on Station 1 :) April and Patrina are both wonderful CNAs. Patrina is never seen without a smile on her face and will boost everyone's spirits if they are having a rough day!
We have something called a pep card. if you are happy, please fill one out for them. It just takes a second and its so great to receive them. It makes you feel a little more appreciated in a job where you usually only hear the negatives :)

Yeah, I'm calling BS. This is a wonderful facility with a staff that cares. I know firsthand and would recommend them to anyone.

I work at NHC JC and this is the truth all of us really care and love our residents. We do work 12 hours our nurses work 13+ a shift. We have any where from 9-14 patients to care for our nurses are the only nurse over the entire station but 1 and 4. And some stations are total care meaning the patient can't care for their self period. It's the hardest job I have ever had but I love it. I've never worked with so many hard working people. If we have a lazy employee they get sacked quick. We do the best we can with the time we have. About all the CNAs and nurses do not have time to take their breaks. That should say we care to not make time for breaks. If the company wasn't too cheap to hire more help the place would be great.

Let's face it we are not there for money we could make more money even the nurses at other jobs. We are there because we care. Before you judge pay attention first and see we are running around to get things done. We never have time to sit down in 12 hours but to chart. We eat while we work instead of sit to eat. We do the best we can and if you could do better come work here and then judge.

All nursing homes are good. Just some people will never be happy. They don't want the burden of taking care of their loved one but they sure want to complain all the time about how the nursing home takes care of them. Blows my mind how people are.

I read the whole post. It's sad. And it's also VERY true...... The bible say that in the end, we won't even be able to trade with each other without first paying the "beast".... WHAY can't we as a community put together some $10,000,000 that doesn't have some CEO at the top trumping to cut corners and costs and people and nurses and equipment. Lets say he's just a good salaried individual who cares about getting the best care to our loved ones?
WHy can't we do that? Hek, medicare will cover the operating costs and even make profits to improve things..... What can't we do it?
Simple ...because of Tennessee lawmakers who are in bed with corporations and Satan. We can no longer even just get together and help each other.
A person at NHC, an invalid, can ring a help button and it might take a nurse over an hour to get there. People, they might not come at all. And it's not the nurses fault. Nurses isn't money and the FEO at the top who makes exactly $4,210,000 needs that money. How does he earn that kind of money? Back cutting back in every conceivable way that he can on your loved ones care. Now those are the facts.
So ignore these truths and go combat things like gay Marraige and global warming. Old people don't matter. Money does.

I'm assuming you are referring to the one in Bristol, not Johnson City. I work at the one in Johnson City and we take wonderful care of our residents. Our patient to CNA ratio is never more than 9:1 for skilled. Try going to lifecare where the ratio is 16:1.

Also, in Johnson City our head of physical therapy is a man, not a woman.

To the person above me, regarding the call light issue, we get written up if a call light stays on for longer than 5 minutes.

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience, but I will defend the company I work for because it is easily the best one in the area.
That is straight up bullshit.

Every place has it's issues and weak links, but I can say with confidence that NHC has the best CNA's in the Tri Cities area. We have had NO FALLS since last year and NO bed sores since last year either. Go online and look at state survey and compare to others in the area. You are just spewing out words with no backup, I am giving facts that can be proven.
I worked there. That's how I know that those things occured. I could still name the names involved but am not stupid enough to do so. It's been awhile since I posted that, but I can assure you that NHC is STILL providing subpar care to their patients. Management was aware but didn't care to do anything about it. She knew about the xbox playing and their phone use in rooms. She excused the behavior.

They don't let employees take thier breaks half the time which is a state violation against the employees who wipe your grandmaws shitty ass and you complain? Nurses care for the patients with upmost respect its the upper management thats the problem they want you there with a fever passing on sicknesses to the patient and theyre very eager to send you off and bring in a bedtime lover to fill your shoes . Patton place taking showers together coed style and passing around the pipe in the office just send grandmaw to the pound . Love shack baby its a little ole place on the hill

My aunt has been there for three months. They're gonna kill her. We are looking as hard as we can to get her out. Here's the problem. THE GD LAWMAKERS ARE IN BED WITH THE NURSING HOME CORPORATIONS. PERIOD !!! Go look at the campaign contributions. WAKE UP. NHC is owned by a company that owns 160 of them... It's not the employees fault. The nurses are THE ONLY ONES WHO care. The administrators are hired henchmen there to protect themselves from legal matters, period. The nurses are HORRIBLY UNDERSTAFFED and UNDERPAID. And the senators (good Christians ) protect them in every way. They even put limits on lawsuits against kingsport, the staff was so bad that they fired three of them (they have to be real bad to get fired). So what did Tony Shipley do? Dd he go there to protect the elderly. HELL NO ! He went there and threatened them and made them hire them back right away. Admitting that three nurses had neglected the elderly would look bad on who SHIPLEY WORKS FOR. He works for the corporation, not the people. But then again, according to republicans, corporations are people too......IT'S SICKENING.

They are mean to my Aunt and she has cried several times. Bed sores and almost zero for physical therapy. The head of the physical therapy dept is just about the rudest woman in the state. ONCE AGAIN. I DO NOT BLAME THE NURSES. THERE'S SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH OF THEM. ALL THE MONEY IS GOING TO THE TOP FOLKS, AND YOU PEOPLE JUST KEEP VOTING FOR CORPORATIONS INSTEAD OF YOUR FELLOWS. IT'S IN THE BIBLE. YOU'RE DECEIVED. CORPORATIONS ARE KILLING YOUR KIN. KEEP VOTING REPUBLICANS AND USHER IN SATAN.
Ummmmm ..... Kingsport didn't open until 2014 - so how did they fire 3 nurses? You're info is way off - that's the problem with forums, they are only informative if the information is correct.
