Is there a fireworks ordinance in the city of JC? People in our community still shoot them and scare pets. Our poor pet has had two surgeries in the last week and was sooooo scared due to a neighbor (who also has a pet) shooting them. To me, this is animal abuse and they should know better.

It amazes me that grownups shoot these fireworks and act like children shouting "OOOOOH! Yah!!!!!!!!!! Can't they grow up????

They spend good money on stupid loud noises.....think about it.....dumb......dumb.

Aw. let the kids have some fun for once a year. Almost everybody likes fireworks unless they are curmudgeons. I'm glad the police can ignore it only once a year. If your precious little doggy needs reassurance, take him to bed with you and stuff him under the covers. What an old stick in the mud you are.

Easy for you to say. You weren't the one up until 3:00 this morning listening to the fireworks. And I seriously doubt the "kids" are up until that time.....these are old people who never grew up and spend money on fireworks they SHOULD be spending on those kids who will someday get their fingers blown off with fireworks. No curmudgeon here, just someone who uses their heads for something other than a hat rack.
In the past the JCPD have issued citations and people had to pay their fines. This year, they DID ignore calls. The JC Press is holding their feet to the fire in their editorial today though.

So you want the police to issue citations for celebrating their freedom? You should be ashamed for caring about a pet more than the precious freedoms that men have died to protect. Thank you to the police officers that were able to overlook these "law breakers."
