It jut varies from person to person as far as whether or not you will like working there. In my opinion it's better than fast food & better than a lot of jobs. It depends on who your manage is or what dept you're in. Sales is probably the worst dept to work in. There's pro & cons with every dept like anywhere else you would work. They have the best health benefits & they also give you tuition assistance. If you don't break the rules & do what you're told you should be fine.

Do they have any offline departments there? and what about part time customer service? or is this just a rumor to get me sucked into a full time position stuck on the phones 40 hours a week? im at Centurylink now and its turned into the pits of hell for real...

They are hiring for part-time positions in customer service. They are having a job fair on the 7th I think. I think all positions open for hire right now are strictly on the phone. You are probably making more money at Century Link. If you decide to go to the job fair, fill out your app online before you go so that you aren't there all day.

Here let me explain further bc you probably won't get that either. They do not interview you in person. So you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?!?
So first, the words came out of your keyboard, not your mouth. Second, despite your cynical assumption, you are incorrect. In several departments the phone interview is the second step prior to a face to face interview. Perhaps you never made it that far?

I was interviewed on the phone and in person.

When your application is received, Citi has an outside vendor conduct a prescreen interview by phone. If you do well on the prescreen then you will be brought in for an onsite face-to-face interview. Last year one department was wrongly doing phone interviews but have been directed to stop these going forward.

Just because your experience happened a certain way doesn't mean it was the correct way or the normal way. Stop being so arrogant.

My 2013 experience:
Fill out APPLICATION. If you qualify you will take an ONLINE ASSESSMENT. If you do well you will have a PHONE INTERVIEW. If you do well you will have a FACE-TO-FACE INTERVIEW. If you do well you will have a DRUG TEST. If you pass you will be HIRED and go through TRAINING. There also is a background/credit check.

Really good place to work with very reasonable goals... I worked in factories and warehouses all my life and was hired at Citi and made bonus every month.. the people who struggle with this job are those who are drama, can't show up for work and simply won't apply themselves... excellent job
This sounds like a canned message tape recording from a typical HR department.

So...What branch of management are you in?...

I hate my job...and I'm not in collections. I have managed in a previous job and always been promoted. Was so thrilled to "get" this job...but now I'm sorry. Unrealistic standards constant bullying and very hard on you if you have to miss work...unless of course you are in the "club"....then the rules do not apply to you. So its easy to scroll through this thread and see who's in and who's out....prospective employees... please beware!

I agree, you have to be in the IN club....do you have a hair weave ?? are you darker than any Indian ? Are you always kissing their ass ??? Tell it like it is... it's time that the majority of the upper Management if you can say they qualify for any Management position to be replaced...they all have been their so long that they will NOT say the other is not worthy.. All of them are in the Club and the Club will not go against any members... I hope corporate will come in and clean house...

HELLO???? Please realize that you work for a call center in East Tennessee. Pretty much the last job a potential hire applies for. What is even sadder is that you don't seem to get that. So keep up your asinine attitudes because quite frankly, I find this quite entertaining. My hope is that all your other employees read this and begin laughing at you behind your backs as well. IT'S A CALL CENTER, THAT'S ALL!!

Jeff Jones....he is nice.. then you have Fake Ken Harris....he is ok...but very FAKE in everything......They let some people buy with anything while other's have to pay the price.. They have one supervisor, that runs around all the time.. Most think she is on some type of drug... many have reported how unprofessional she is but nothing was ever done......all she does is drink energy drinks and smoke... never there......if you can put up with the bs and the office politics you will be fine..
Wow! From your post, I know exactly who you are speaking of....Amy. Amazing because she was terminated for improper conduct from Sprint. She was always intelligent, high energy, caught on quick but made bad decisions. She is young and had it made. Funny to hear she still does the same. Is Omar still there? He started whenever she did. Seemed really nice. They left Sprint together.

Rightly Attractive, young, spunky with auburn hair and lots of freckles. She works there now. Has been there for several years.
