Looked up Tom Jessee. He practices with his brother Robert. Looks like Tom has been having an affair with another lawyer, Crystal Goan, in Greenville, Tennessee. This woman has been tried for wire-tapping. How do these people get to be lawyers. Check out the Greenville Sun for the whole story. It's a great read. Their spouses sure got hosed.

Tom Jessee (Johnson City, TN) by reading some of the comments you would think that he was wonderful and skillful attorney in domestic issues, however I feel a man that handles his personal life issues in the open and without honor and trust would handle his clients the same way. In saying this I believe I would find someone else to handle my legal issues. Dragging out cases for years and without the results that I hoped for. You would think an attorney would have his clients best interest in mind considering the fees he charges and would want to triumph in all his cases and keep things professional and not personal. (example if he liked you or didn't) these things affect his performance as attorney in representing you as a client. Being an attorney is a business, so find someone that is going to do good business for and on behalf of you. After all its your money that is paying his salary. I would say NEXT on Tom Jessee. (find someone else)

I stand by my earlier post, however, I do concede that Mr. Bowman is probably the most experienced criminal attorney and has garnered the respect of D.A.'s and judges. I did forget to add that the best for employment law are Charlton Devault, Kingsport, Tennessee and Bruce Shine, Kingsport, Tennessee. And I do agree that Lois is an excellent lawyer. And to the question above, yes, I have personally witnessed these folks in action and for a number of years. My recommendations are spot on.

Thank you, Hoot, good to know....you know all this by personal experience, or is this just hearsay opinion? Have you actually witnessed them in acton? Yes or no, please.

Yes. I have witnessed each and every one of these folks I've mentioned doing their thing. My recommendations are made based on what I've witnessed and heard from many of their peers. The list is sound, though I do concede that Jim Bowman and Lois Schultz are both fine, fine attorneys, but the question asked for "the best," and that's what I listed.

She came across as a credible "victim" in the much publicized dometic assault case with the state rep from down there. If I recall correctly she was having an affair and what set him, her husband, off was a email or text from Jesse. Didn't know she was an attorney too. Not so much a victim in my eyes now. Lawyers know how to manipulate, and in some ways, manufacture evidence. According to this article she was accused by an ex-husband , also a lawyer ((are they are as incestuous as a bunch of bedouins?) of messing with his emails using spyware or something like that. The law has a concept called "dirty hands" how the legit judges even allow them to practice in their courts defies logic.

It depends. What area of law? For divorce and family law, the best in the upper East Tennessee area are Judith Fain of Erwin, Tennessee, Thomas J. Seeley, III of Jonesborough, Tennessee, Thomas C. Jessee of Johnson City, Tennessee. The best criminal lawers are Thomas J. Seeley, III of Jonesborough, Richard W. Pectol, Johnson City, Bob McD. Green, Lisa Nidiffer Rice of Elizabethton, and H. Randolph Fallin of Mountain City, Tennessee. The best med malpractice attorneys are Olen G. Haynes, Sr., Johnson City or John Bingham, Kingsport, Tennessee. The best personal injury or workers comp plaintiffs attorneys are Thomas C. Jessee, Bob McD. Green, both of Johnson City and John T. Milburn Rogers, Greeneville, TN. The best for land, realty, and probate matters is Attorney, Jim Wheeler, Jonesborough. Best Bankruptcy attorney is Margaret Fugate. Though he only practices insurance defense work, the greatest legal mind of our area is without question, Ronald W. Jenkins. That covers most of the big, general areas of law folks hire counsel for. But as you did not specify which area, those listed above are the best attorneys I know of in each of those respective areas. Good luck.
What makes you an expert on who is best in all those categories? Know it all, I say.

He seems to be a con artist. He is bought and paid for. I am afraid he is not working for the man who hires him. What a shame!

Devault was persuaded into covering up for a child abuse case against wcde. He told parents that he would represent them and the child and took money from them. Then attempted to throw the case and talk the parents out of a lawsuit.
This seems to be a pattern with DeVault. I hope the parents were able to get their money back. God knows WCDE deserves to be sued over and over. We need a decent attorney to help with matters like this. Local attorneys please do not be afraid to take on Ron Dykes and his cronies. Patrick Hull is just another money hog getting rich off of all of Ron Dykes coverups. I am not so sure Mr Hull is too wonderful he represents people who coverup child abuse.

I would recommend you go out of JC. Go to Kingsport and get Bruce Shine or his partner. Most lawyers in JC get things done through favors and what not. You can't trust any of them if you have a serious charge consider Greenville too!
