These are the best travel people around. They were considerate and took the time to explain things to us! we have been on 4 vacations since we joined which was only in August of 09 and cant thank them enough for helping us be able to do things that we would not normally be able to afford!! Thank you!!

This company left a very bad taste in my mouth. We stopped at a place called the "Welcome Centre" just outside of Charleston thinking it was a city welcome centre. We stopped for a map. Instead, we were subject to a twenty minute sales pitch and offered free carriage rides, ghost tours and plantation admittance. All we had to do was show up for an hour's talk on how to save money on travel. We reluctantly signed up but then had to give them $20 to "reserve" our place and guarantee our attendance. I tried to back out but got pressured some more and agreed to come. After we got out, I got madder and madder. It would have meant wasting half our morning, driving into downtown Charleston, paying for parking etc. for a one hour sales pitch to buy a membership like Costco. I walked and just left them with our $20. I couldn't believe it. If they had named their roadside stop as the Wholesale Travel Connection Welcome Centre, we would never have stopped. Obviously this was deliberately set up to entrap innocent tourists. I intend to write to the Charleston Chamber of Commerce.

We have benefitted tremendously from our membership with Wholesale Travel Connection-Charleston......sta yed in Australia for half what we had budgeted to spend after intense research by my wife. We also saved 40% off Broadway tickets. Just a wonderful company to deal with. I have never written a testimonial for any business until this moment. That is how strongly I feel.

I don't care what these other people said the service is terrible with this company. They apparently have too few people trying to serve a fairly large customer base. On the positive side, when I have been able to get them to return calls and book resorts their prices have been pretty good. It took us three months to book a cruise with them. We got it for the same price we could have gotten from the cruise line. However, they did negotiate a $250.00 on board ship credit for us.

I think this business is a SCAM...BEWARE and realize that there is NO 3 day cancellation option in SC which they don't explain. I am in the battle for my life to retrieve my 5400 that I cannot afford. I was tired needed my pain meds and just wanted to get out of there. I disclosed all my concerns with the agent and all was ignored. I believed I had the 3 day cancellation option because I didn't see or recieve when requested it later on the paperwork. They trick you into believing you are not purchasing real estate. Why then don't they just say cannot cancel after signing this "membership"....beca use they know you won't sign it if you understood what it meant.
The positive people posting I bet work for this company...I am certain! BEWARE and don't sign a thing!

Can you please help many others who were lied to and gave these people a lot of money and got nothing in return? Please lillimccarron@yahoo.com

I think the best place to start is by complaining to the South Carolina Attorney General's office. I will look for the information and post it.

Thank you.. right now I want to fight this company. I disclosed I was disabled and wouldn't be able to benefit from this service within minutes. It's not just about the cancellation fee, but the fact that they or she kept pushing and ignored what I was saying. I thought they also took advantage of me being alone...had a 12 year old with me. Whatever you can find out for me will be appreciated. This whole ordeal has made me very ill.

They are like used car salesmen. The more I said no, The less the "membership" became. I finally walked out. Not to be trusted

I'm not one to defend companies or their proposed practices, but my membership with Wholesale Travel has been nothing but beneficial,I've had a troubled past investing in a timeshare that cost a fortune with no return, and was impossible to sale, I reluctantly went into the presentation mainly for the freebies but was impressed with the contrast to a "timeshare" and joined. I've vacationed thru wholesale three times now and have saved incredibly as promised. Dont Know where the bad experiences are coming from but the program has worked great for me.

I am curious who you are dealing with there. We get the same person everytime and it takes her days and weeks to get back with us.

I can't believe that there are people who are satisfied with Wholesale Travel! I agree with other posters that they must be employees. I called them in June to book a "weekend getaway" trip in December. Their so called "weekend getaways". LIES, LIES, LIES! I sent over 20 e-mails and called over 50 times since June. They charged my credit card for the non-refundable airfare (twice what I would have paid if I had booked it myself through Southwest Airlines). They never booked the hotel or gave me the Broadway tickets they promised. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!! They stopped returning my calls in October. Since October, I have left messages and sent e-mails, to no avail. Now I am stuck with non-refundable airline tickets and can't afford the hotel and Broadway tickets they were supposed to provide for no additional charge. They told me in the sales pitch that the weekend getaways were $199 per person and I just needed to give them proper time to schedule the "getaway". Don't you think calling them in June for a "getaway" in December is proper time notification?

We went to a presentation this past saturday because they offered us a free cruise out of charleston. They were very aggressive to the point my husband walked out and while I tried to get the free cruise we were promised. They did give me the info and I registered but of course you can't use it over any holidays. I will be curious to see if we will actually be able to use it in the next year.

I also been mislead on the chalk board sales pitch.Has not even been close to prices given on request vs sales pitch board. AAA gave me better or internet prices are better.Ihave been taken on a very expensive misfortune. We set up a cruise one year in advanced for reunion trip service was so bad, hundereds of no return calls, emails our people backed out form a scared lack of service.Looking like a fool for suggesting this GROUP.Again inquired on a weekend deal waited------- week no responce, walking out the door for the weekend my call back price. I booked AAA ten minutes and $20 cheaper. What a wast of my $3000 to

We have experienced the same as the rest of you. Multiple phone calls with no response. Lost reservations when we've already arrived at our destination (outside the country). We were promised the best rate and we have been able to find the same rate if not beat it on our own. What happened to the 5 Year Piece of Mind Warranty that stated that if we didn't recoup our membership fees, then we would get a refund. We joined in 2010 and have yet to see any savings worth mentioning at the cost of time, frustration, and hardship. We are trying to get our money back but are basically being told to just take them to court. Has anyone else been successful at getting a refund? If so, how did you do it?
