The USCG just dumped over 20 tons of pure cocaine (about 20 MILLION grams worth maybe $500 MILLION)on the dock but coke is still selling at an all time low price and all time hi in purity.
If that doesn't convince you the war on drugs is lost, what will? It's (dare I say? oh, sure...) HIGH time for a new approach: Let's take the profits away from the drug lords and put our resources where they'll be more effective. |

Oh yes, great idea. Let's sell coke out of every corner store, and heroin in the schools. Please...give me a break. The war on drugs is NOT a lost cause. Do you have any clue as to how many people have stopped using drugs because they've been busted? Check out the TV show intervention to see how drugs affect the community, the families and the children of those who use them. Also notice that the primary motivator to stop the abuse of ILLEGAL drugs is wanting to stay out of prison, retain custody of their children and to have a life in general. How about how many children that are now being taken care of because their parents are clean? How about the neighbors no longer living in fear of being robbed due to a drug habit? What about there being one less homeless person, or one less prostitute because someone finally kicked the habit? Some of these people use hundreds of thousands of dollars a week in illicit drugs and have no jobs, they will do ANYTHING for it, even going as far as to sell their children. I've heard the legalization argument before, but show me ONE former (former being the key word) drug user who thinks it's a good idea to legalize drugs. I doubt you'll find one. A legal drug becomes like alcohol. So we'll be preaching to our kids not to use cocaine, while doing a line at home. We'll tell them that marijuana is bad as we go in and buy a pack of joints from the corner store. Alcoholics tend to breed alcoholics and it would be the same with drug use, and please, show me a study that contradicts what I am writing. There isn't one. No one studies the affects of a mother on cocaine because no one can. In a Utopian society where everyone had a great job, no one was prone to addiction, everyone was smart and no one suffered, it might be an option. But American society cannot handle alcohol being legal. Many "casual drinkers" cannot handle not drinking and driving. And you want to legalize heroin and cocaine???? My bet is you've never done any drugs in your entire life, except maybe smoked a joint once in college, you weren't raised by an addict or probably never had someone you care about prostituting for money to buy crack and you've probably never had a loved one overdose. This kind of stuff happens every day, and drugs are illegal. You think it will get better if drugs are legal? At least MOST drunks don't rob or prostitute for alcohol. They just lose everything and end up begging on a street corner, or indulge in mouthwash. |

I completely understand why drugs are illegal and they should stay that way.
could you imagine a world where everyone is coked out, weeded out, heroined out trying to go to work? Nothing would get done. The people who lose everything from alcohol would have lost it anyways. They are broken to begin with. that is why they abuse alcohol. How dare you pick on alcohol. I usto drink alot and I stopped all by myself and now I am a millionaire. ps I still drink and it's fun.Anything is possible in this capitalist society. |
