Does this mean he was granted parole and finally be able to live a happy life with his wife and family? Could Billy's wife please let us know. By the comment "Thanks for crossing your fingers and caring. It worked:)", it sounds like he may have been paroled.

Thank you so much, after all the negativity toward me those are nice words to hear and Billy would thank you for that also...He and I and my family and friends are so excited and have so many plans in store. He should be home before Christmas, so we will have Christmas, our Anniversary and his Birthday all together to celebrate and be thankful for. One great year and many more in store for us:)Thanks again to everyone who prayed for this and has supported him fully.

If I knew someone was abuseing one of my children the way that old codger was I would be the one in prison. Nothing would stop me from getting my child out of that hell hole. God bless Billy and those abused. I pray he is released and can finally have a normal life. If half the abuse he stated was true, shame on the "good ole boy judge & sheriff." God forgives and forgets, something people never want to do. I feel Billy has suffered enough. His time served was living with the abuse, should have never served a day in prison.

I have been in an abusive relationship. I know the true meaning of fear and frozen in fear. These people had endured this all their lives, they knew no other way to live. That is unfortunately what happened here. People that have never been through this cannot understand why you just cannot up and leave. It is not that cut and dry. I wish it was. I wish him all the luck in the world and his family as well but I hope his wife is careful. Once he gets out all that anger may resurface again for him. He has been through a lot, He will need counseling to help him adjust. Good Luck Billy and your family.

Explain what you mean by Injustice?(not fair trial? not fair sentence? not fairly represented?)
you know injustice!! The fact that they didn't care that a horrible man physically, emotionally, and mentally abused his family. They only cared that another good ole boy was killed. I think it is a travesty that Billy Crowder was afraid to move on with his life because his grandfather would or had already been raping his sister.

I really hope he gets/got out. I've seen the American Justice episode maybe 3 or 4 times, and I'm always left wondering. I myself knows how it feels to be abused in many ways, but never as bad as the things I've heard had happened to Billy. As for you Angie, my heart goes out to you. You are by far, the strongest woman I've ever heard of. And though, I myself, could never bring myself to kill the people who have abused, beaten, and raped me, I do not blame Billy for what he did. He described it perfectly in the American Justice episode, "you beat a dog all it's life and one day it WILL turn on you". PLEASE my email is mandam0588@gmail.com, PLEASE email me, I would love to know how things go with him. And I would also love to meet you one day.

I just read that Billy and his family got the best Christmas present ever! He was released 11/27/12!!! Congratulations Billy! I only know your story from TV and reading online. But please know that you and your sister have been in my prayers! God bless you for defending your family. It breaks my heart to know that you all endured so much and then you had to spend 15 years in prison and be punished more! Talk about injustice! But I pray that you can get on with life and be blessed with ALL LIFE HAS TO OFFER! HAVE A GOOD LIFE...YOU EARNED IT. And if you ever want to come to Chicago to visit, you have a place to stay!

I'm puzzled as to why anyone would say that Billy and all of the others involved were done wrong. They murdered a man in his sleep. I knew Thurman Martin and couldn't stand him, but he still was a human being. He was a mean old rascal, and I have no doubt as to him being abusive, but if it was to the extent that was claimed there would have been some physical evidence, such as broke bones. Even if he did the things he was accused of, you can't murder someone for it. Why didn't they kill him in self-defense while he was committing these acts? When vigilante justice prevails innocent people die. Not that Thurman was innocent, but he deserved better than that. The didn't get what they deserved. They should have been put to death.
I bet if it was your kid you wouldn't be saying that! Someone messes with mine, they won't need to worry about it, I will solve it quick like...

I agree with you Reelkamper...Billy has never had a life without something holding him back...They took him from a prison and stuck him in another!

I just saw the story on ID and could not believe my ears... That judge did not have to give him life. The young man, Billy, said he used the money he kept to pay the bills.. No matter now.. HE IS FREE!!!

I remember seeing this case on CourtTV during the trial as a young teen. I was appalled and cried when they described how mean the grandfather was. Recently I have been wanting to locate the episode to watch again to no avail. Does anyone have any idea if this can be viewed online or bought somewhere? I'd love to watch this again as an adult.
