Right wingers pay the same tax rates as the clueless and uneducated, don't they? Use the same forms and tax tables, don't they? Or, are you saying right wingers use different forms and tables?
Are right wingers the ONLY ones that make a lot of money? Are you whining about what Buffet or certain movies stars pay in taxes?
"able to pay only 15% or less tax rate on that 89.5 BILLION dollar family fortune."
Income taxes are on income (duh), not wealth. Their fortune has already been taxed. Duh.
"15% or less tax rate"
Oh, you mean the capital gains rate that is available to ALL tax payers? BTW, how do you know what an individual's tax rate is, it's not public information, although corporate tax rates can be easily found.
"Might have to pay taxes at the same rate we working people do."
They do. They use the same forms and tax table the rest of us do.
Your anti-wealth fury is targeted at people that are doing things legally and within the rules. You don't like the rules, probably because you don't understand them and the rationale for them...
You are a real nut case. ALL Americans can pay the same rate and can use loopholes like the capital gains rate. Are you kidding, or are you just real stupid?? How many working Americans just barely able to make ends meet have stocks, investment properties and run corporations. It’s a SMALL percentage of the population that can take ADVANTAGE of the tax loopholes like capital gains built for the rich. Most really wealthy people only pay tax on capital gains, while the majority of Americans use the tax table. They ARE doing things legally and within the rules, rules THEY had the power to create with huge "donations" to politicians. We only have the power of the vote, THEY have the power to buy elections and influence. We the people are losing power over government while the rich 5% are gaining more power EVERY DAY, thanks to politicians in Washington and the system they have built.

+++ Great post! Tell it like it is! These liberals act like the only people that have any money are Republicans and that only Republicans should pay taxes. Only the poor are Democrats and should not ever pay any taxes. The producers should give their labor, time and money to the non-producers. For the "Common Good". Pure Communism. They are very sick individuals that wish to hang onto the coattails of the more independent, hard working, successful people.
I am just curious. How many successful Democrats want to pay all these taxes to the moocher society. Warren Buffett says he does, but the IRS has been suing him for the last 4 years trying to get him to pay millions in back taxes that he owes. He says one thing but then actually does the opposite. Typical sound good B.S. liberal actions. Talk is cheap.
C'mon BigDummy1. Try to pick a point and think it through LOGICALLY. You might come up with some different conclusions. In fact, I'd guarantee it.

Is our CURRENT method of getting healthcare to all the citizens of our country working pretty well? Is our current method a "good thing" and operating as we'd like?

Quite franky, it's a disaster. Getting effective health care to people who need health care is the LAST thing on the agenda. The main agenda of our current system is to create huge pools of money for lots of people to skim off the top from. It's about making money- care of people is secondary.

In the news today,
"On the question of overall party images, and which party cares more about the average American, Democrats enjoy an advantage over Republicans among women.
Twenty-five percent of women said they had a favorable view of the GOP in the Quinnipiac University poll, versus 42 women who said they had a favorable opinion of the Democratic Party. Fifty-three percent of women had a negative opinion of the Republican Party, versus 38 percent of women who said they had a negative impression of the Democratic Party.
Women also favored Democrats on the matter of which party better cared for needs and problems of people like them. Women respondents agreed, 59 percent to 38 percent, that Democrats cared for their needs and concerns; 35 percent of women said that Republicans cared for their needs and concerns, versus 60 percent of women who disagreed.
More broadly, Democrats also enjoy an advantage over Republicans on the question of which party better handles the issue of same-sex marriage. Forty-nine percent of all Americans said that Democrats do a better job, versus 28 percent who prefer Republicans. Independents favor Democrats, 48 percent to 26 percent, on that question, and even one in five Republicans — 21 percent — prefer Democrats’ handling of the issue of same-sex marriage."

You DO realize that polls are determined by WHOM(party affiliation,# of people, geographical location, etc.) are being polled. Right? That is why I would like to know which left wing site you gathered this particular information from. By next week, the polling results will be different. You should have learned that by now. Your second sentence is typically immature.

39.6% on income, 39.6% on capital gains.
Those who take the most from our society can afford to pay the most to keep it functioning.
Conversely, I think EVERYBODY (with a few obvious exceptions), needs to pay at least 10%.
This post shows the true ignorance of Liberals.
They believe income and capital gains are 2 different taxes in America.
Capital gains are taxed by 2 different methods, short and long term.
Both are taxed at different rates and both are considered income, unless there is a loss.
So Chickenbutt would have capital gains taxed twice, once as a gain and again as income.
This is why this country is screwed up, liberal voters who don't have a clue.
And as we all know, IO is a stranded hyperbole.

You couldn't have picked a better example.
Walmart as a top-level policy is aggressively and intentionally pursuing the management strategy of taking the profits from their stores while pushing their expenses off on the American Taxpayers.
This is very real, very intentional, and very bad for America in, including everybody that reads this post. They in NO way are "good corporate citizens". They are downgrading America for profit.
To be fair, Walmart isn't alone in this. Let's talk Monsano, the major players in the food industry, the medical industry, big pharma, big-oil. Wall Street?
The solution to fixing America is to simply fix the corporate/big business stranglehold on our government and insist that if you want the benefits of American resources, American labor, American education, American infrastructure, American stability, American Laws, American defense, that you (corporations), behave in a responsible manner that isn't detrimental to America and the American people, and that you pay towards keeping those things operating.
It's that simple. And- The Republican Party IS the party whose main objective is to insure that those things never happen, to the detriment of the American middle-class and poor. Also that simple.

Where is your education?
This country rebelled and was formed upon free commerce.
Remember the Boston Tea Party?
Who do you think were the motivating force behind our revolution?
That's right, small business people.
And it was about free commerce.

Although you liberals think it was about taking care of the poor and fair taxation and gouging those who have made this country the most prosperous in the world.
Ok, maybe we're not the most prosperous, but that's because we are always giving it away by dam liberals.

"which party care more about the average American" - Oh, I just LOVE this. The Democrats have ridden this train for decades and look at the results. Let's look at Social Security - it was set up as a SUPPLEMENTAL income program for people in retirement. But somehow over the decades too many people came to the expectation that it was to take care of them completely when they quit working and they made no other provisions for their years when they would not be working.
The War on Poverty - sounds great on paper, let's help the poor, let's help those poor women and children who have lost their husband/father. But that means a husband/father can't be in the picture. Result: Black illegitimacy rate was around 22% and the overall illegitimacy rate in the US was less than 8%. Today, the Black illegitimacy rate is 70% and the overall rate is 33%. After 4 decades and $15 TRILLION dollars - the poverty rate is the same now as it was then. I'd say we lost that war.

But it sounds so good to say let's help these poor people and Democrats get to pat themselves on the back for being the better people and then ignore what happens to those people. Democrat programs enslave people to the welfare system - "I can't take that job, I'll lose my food stamps, or housing supplement or Medicaid" - just fill in the blank. So they take the short term advantage and ignore the fact that that job could be a stepping stone to a better job and then a better job that will bring them out of poverty. The welfare reform that Clinton now takes credit for (after being dragged to it by a Republican congress) worked - and Obama has tanked it. The voucher program for DC's poorest children (mostly black) that allowed them to get out of the hell holes that DC calls public schools was canceled by Obama and only reinstated by a Republican push - where is Democrat "care for the children" in that - oops, I forgot - Democrat's first loyalty is to the teachers' unions, children come a far second in the education debate.

It is so easy to say "I care more" and then throw someone else's money at a problem and then don't look at the results. You get the "high road" of being "compassionate." Except EVERY study has shown that when it comes to their own pocketbook - Republicans donate far more to charity than Democrats do - every time. Those polls just illustrate the successful partnership between Democrats and the left leaning media in their spin. Never forget what was done to Gingrich when he became Speaker - what was Newsweek's cover illustration - "The Gingrich that stole Christmas" - no bias there - right.

Is your tax on gross income or taxable income? What's the difference?
Is it on all income or is it an incremental rate? If incremental, what are the ranges for various rates (if any) and what are the % rates?
What's the current top rate right now?
Why the difference between "income" and "capital gains"?
"Those who take the most from our society can afford to pay the most to keep it functioning."
How is it that someone that makes a lot of $ takes the most from our society? Someone that wins a lottery is taking a lot from our society? A sports star is taking a lot from our society? PLEASE explain/define what they are taking.
So you want someone to pay over 50% of their income (your tax, but you haven't explained it very well, plus state income taxes, plus FICA) in taxes. Wow. You must want the government to have all kinds of $ and take care of everything. Not me.
"Conversely, I think EVERYBODY (with a few obvious exceptions), needs to pay at least 10%."
I agree everybody should pay something. How did you get 10%? ASSUMING it's on income, what about those that don't file tax returns or work "under the table"? They're not paying anything.
I can't answer all of this at the moment due to time constraints. Contrary to popular Republican opinion I'm running a multi-million dollar small business at the moment, not sitting on my sofa collecting government money.

But you do for once ask some good questions. I'll make a point of answering them in detail when I'm not at work.

Of course Synergy will just reply to any detailed discussion with "blah, blah, blah- so many words. Didn't read them. Obama sucks! Freedom destroying socialist! Just WAIT AND you'll see"

"You are a real nut case." You are, of course, entitled to your opinion...

"ALL Americans can pay the same rate and can use loopholes like the capital gains rate."

My point EXACTLY. Some of your brethren don't seem to comprehend that fact. BTW, why is the capital gains rate considered (by you) to be a loophole? Do you understand the rationale for why capital gains are taxed differently than "ordinary" income.

"How many working Americans just barely able to make ends meet have stocks, investment properties and run corporations."

No idea, but you could research it and let us know. A lot of people doing OK (making ends meet) don't have investment properties or run corporations. A LOT of people have a 401k or 403b (or other retirement plan) which,(directly or indirectly) means they own stock.

"It’s a SMALL percentage of the population that can take ADVANTAGE of the tax loopholes like capital gains built for the rich."

But you just (correctly) said it's available to all of us. Sounds like wealth envy rearing it's head again...You're against people taking "advantage" of the law? You're probably against a football team having too many fast players, a hoops team having too many tall players or a baseball team having too many guys throwing 95+mph fastballs, too, huh?

"Most really wealthy people only pay tax on capital gains, while the majority of Americans use the tax table."

Well, I guess you'd have to define "really wealthy" (how of THEM are out there?) before I prove your statement wrong. For the most part, salaries, wages and short term income items like dividends and interest income are taxed using the tax tables, capital gains related items are afforded the 15% rate. If you're saying all someone does is play in the stock market and doesn't have a salary from a job, you're correct.

You will get no disagreement from me about your government points.
