Obviously a training failure. Everyone who carries knows you keep your finger OFF the trigger until you are ready to fire.

On the other hand, did the occifer get out with the intention of firing as soon as they verified a "transaction" had taken place?

Either way a bad situation. Perhaps this occifer needs the "Barney Fife" (RIP) treatment, one bullet, kept in his/her shirt pocket.

Yeah!! Of course that's what happened...He intentionally got out of his car and shot two kids for no reason what so ever, knowing that it could cost him his pension. That's what happened. It's so clear now, I can't believe I missed it before....He really didn't want to be a cop anymore so instead of just quitting, he decided to go out and intentionally shoot two kids....

It was the same bullet that went through the first kid and hit the second kid, not shot twice. Are you all actually reading the article or formulating your opinion after you smoke a bowl?

None of us were there, so, we really do not know what happened. I do have to say though that the officer needs to be more careful.

Sure there are cases of incompetent officers, but, no one should jump to conclusions until all of the info is in. And those of us that post, DO NEED to read the entire article and not jump to conclusions.

Hopefully the teens will be ok and this will be proven an accident.

The parents should sue the officer and the department so that both have to file bankruptcy. The officer should be brought up on charges and serve jail time!

Thank you to Steve and the poster At The Beach for being objective with this situation. The problem with today's society is we have people like Sad Sack and Vicki R who use their subjective hatred for the police to conjure up stories about an incident. The beauty of America is that everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am glad people like that can only hide behind their computer and write anonymous postings. These are the same people that call the police in the middle of the night if someone is trying to break into their house or the same people that would want something done if their child was sexually abused or assaulted. So to the stupid people out there that post childish things on this website I think your only hope is to educate yourself and maybe someday you will be able to take a subjective look at a situation and then make your opinion. Good luck.

You weren't there and you don't know what happened. Maybe you should learn to do some research before you say such things on a website. Oh yeah and learn how to spell too. The last time I checked the word officer is spelled O-F-F-I-C-E-R.

How are are the taxpayers going to pay for this incident ? What sounds strange to you? How do you know this officer was "trigger happy" ? Do you know the officer ? How many police involved shootings has the officer been involved in? Get back to me when you can answer these questions....good luck.

Why do they need to sue the officer ? So what you are saying is that this resolves the situation ? So if the police department goes bankrupt then what happens when the general public needs the police ? What charges should the officer "be brough up on" ? What you are saying makes no sense and if anyone needs to be brought up on charges it should be you for stupidity.

Sounds like you are making a generalization because you hate the police but you are probably the same person that calls the police when you need help. Absolutely amazing. Just to let you know your posting makes you sound really immature and clueless. Read the article and do some research before you post such dumb things on this website.

Keep hiding behind your computer and saying such vulgarities. You are just as clueless and immature as the other posters on this website.

How about this. Instead of you being the judge and jury lets wait until we find out what happened. If you think that the officer got out of his car with the intention of shooting two people then you are either a police hater or crazy.

Predictably when an officer shoots someone the police-hating cockroaches come crawling out of the woodwork. These types of people tend to live in their parent's basements because they have been failures in life. But if an officer had been shot would you see them posting? I doubt it.

Of course I'm hiding behind a screen name, which is why I used my first name.

"The parents should sue the officer and the department so that both have to file bankruptcy. The officer should be brought up on charges and serve jail time!"

This was the stupid statement I was referrencing.

Actually Bob, Im a late 20s successful businessman who owns OUTRIGHT a 1.5 million dollar home in Bethesda who thinks the police are the kids in school who never got anything right.

I think its amusing that we have the least intelligent people in positions that garner them the opportunity to operate above the law.

90% of the officers I see on the street are overweight out of shape donut munchers who are generally a burden on taxpayer resources.
