The only way we can support our correctional officers is to support the death penalty.

good point. if no DP then what do the inmates have to lose if they kill a CO - there are no deterrents. hey didnt all the correctional officers (union) vote for o'malley instead of ehrlich? well, maybe they will get what they deserve - it is a one party rule. they will do whatever they want without care - why should i care anymore?

p.s.- bringing in someone who WASN'T accidentally executed by the state as a witness is a real amusing touch. What it really proves, yet again, is that the system works.
Correction: Even better, he was a panel member. LMAO, as they say...
As I remember, when Bloodsworth was released those involved in the prosecution stood by the prosecution. All the DNA proved was that it wasn't his DNA. They strongly believed that he was still involved.

Lets all face it, Maryland does not really want to have a death penalty as noted in the case of the snipers (Malvo and Muhammand) who were apprehended in Maryland and the state deferred to Virginia to try the snipers first. What usually happens is when some one of importance or their family is murdered then they have a diffent perspective on the death penalty. All I can say is fine get rid of it and then what will be the penalty if they kell again, more prison time - don't make me laugh since they cannot do all the time that they are now serving.
