There are way more Black Latinos (afro-latinos) than there are Black Americans (afro-americans) yet they are unrepresented in latin countries and usa....there are large black latino (afro-latino) populations in mexico/puerto rico/dominican republic/cuba/brazil/colombia/ el salvador/panama/honduras/costa rica/belize/peru/etc ec all due to the african diaspora. Yet many fail to realize this or acknowledge it. Why?

Who cares,I'm sick of hearing the majority of blacks where ever they are from crying about everything, mostly about all the evil white folks holding them back. The amazing thing to me is driving thru nieghborhoods with new houses. It's mostly all black folks buying the new homes, plus two new cars in the driveway.I hardly call this being held back.

I don't think they're any Afro-Latinos in Mexico, and I'm not trying to sound prejudice. But when the spaniards invaded America (present Mexico, South America, excluding Brazil.) they used the Mexican natives as slaves at that time.(for Mexico)
But in other countries, for example Brazil, the people of Portugal used Africans as slaves since land like Brazil was new, and unsettled. Hence, this is why you see Afro-Latinos in Brazil, Dominican republic, etc...

Yeah, but Afro-Mexican only represent like less than 1 percent - if anything. And maybe that's why they are so 'misrepresented' because they are minority. I mean, I am Mexican, and even I have never heard of 'Afro-Mexican'
But like I said when the Spaniards conquested our land,(present Mexico) they used the native Aztecs as slaves. And so fourth... To much history behind it (Lol)

Afro-Latino and Afro-Brazilian representation in local and national media is tightly controlled/screened in ALL Central/South American countries. Why? Because there is a privately held concern that true/unbiased media representation will increase their self image and serve to raise their social, economic, and spritual self awareness. All these enhanced characteristics will in-turn lead to greater demands for all encompassing equality and competitive access to better education, jobs, and lifestyle........something white and mixed race Latinos and Brazilians really do not want.

That's not exactly factual. There are token Afro-Latin communities in Central America, Venezuela, Colombia and then a larger contingent in Cuba, Brazil, and the Caribbean.

I found this in the Houston thread so I don't know if you're talking about in Houston but I know in Houston there aren't that many mixed Afrolatins and there is quite the ethnic divide for the most part.

You do have some interracial couples but they are the exception, not the norm.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Libra

It's another day when tensions are rife and you feel stretched to breaking point. You might even totally lose your temper with someone, instead of merely snapping at them as you did yesterday. Mars stomps into reverse today, so it would be better to clear the air now with a row, and then forget all about it, rather than allowing bad feelings to accumulate and fester inside you.
