I do think it is awsome that we have so much activity in pine creek anymore, but I just miss the old days when not a single person you didn't know would canoe down the creek. Or be at the manor for dinner, or strangers in the general store. It's just diffrent now, more popular.

I am really sad to see the changes happening in the Pine Creek area. Mark my words, in 20 years you will not even know the area. The beautiful serene area will be replaced by businesses, people, etc.
How sad to think that one day it will no longer exist at all. What makes motorcycle riders think that we people that moved to Waterville to live in peace want to hear their obnoxious noise all weekend, and why do I need to have a muffler on my car and they do not need baffles on their bikes?
I think this question needs to be taken to Harrisburg....

Hey, I've known the Crick since the 1940s, wanna talk about change? PennDot's continual upgrading of the road, the building of summer homes and cabins in the floodplains and in full view from the creek, subdivisions up-and-down the creek, more and more people, loss of native trout fisheries due to acid rain, Pine Creek's once abundant and diversity of fish replaced with carp and a put-and-take trout fishery, DNCR's logging accompanied with fencing-off large areas of the forest, the Marcellus Shale development, etc. Believe me, the Crick ain't what it used to be. But it's all relative, the more screwed up the suburbs and cities become, the better Pine Creek, even if diminished in many ways, appears to people. Too bad the locals fought against having Pine Creek designated under the federal Wild and Scenic Rivers Act around 1969, it might have protected some of the scenic features and the creek's amenities.
