Jersey City eminent domain fight may be at end with state Supreme Court's refusal to hear challenge

The state Supreme Court has refused to hear a Jersey City agency's appeal of an appellate court decision that affirmed an $18.6 million award to the owners of a 3.4-acre Jersey Avenue site that was seized by Jersey City via eminent domain.

This is another attempt of a government agency, in a conspiracy with a developer, to defraud citizens of their property rights.

I believe an in-depth investigation would discover that the developer and certain politicians had a deal where money changed hands in order to get an eminent domain declaration.

The abuse of the eminent domain power of government must be brought to an abrupt halt. Furthermore, conspiracy between private persons and public officials must result in prosecutions and prison time for the conspirators. There is too much corruption in government that goes unnoticed and unpunished. This is a valid reason for the voters to refuse to elect and re-elect politicians to office. After all, most politicians are failures in the private sector and escape to politics as a means to feather their nests and obtain unwarranted wealth and power.
