Arrogant flying busdrivers suck! They should get a real job where they actually have to work not sit in a chair and do nothing but sleep for hours at a time. They wouldn't last in the real work world, the lazy bastards. The only thing they do good is drive up the price pf the ticket to pay their well overpaid moronic jobs. They should just be happy to have a job.

Look dude you are a silly fool that have no clue what you talk about when you say that airline pilots should get a real job and would not last in the real world...Try pulling 16 hour duty days and dealing with disrespectfull asses like you. Next time get on the Greyhound bus...you probably fit better there.

Yeah, that $26,000 I made last year really drove up ticket prices. Be sure to remind the pilots how overpaid they are the next time you and your family are traveling down the runway at 150 mph in dense fog.

From where I sit, folks in this industry better act now or I see massive layoffs in the near future. I see this so-called reduction of capacity as a warning that aircraft will be parked and crews furoughed all over again. Then the Clip-board carrying "TWITS" out in Tempe aka "The SandCastle" will notice that they can make a profit with fewer planes and people. Yoiu have to understand that all the big guys understand is Profit, do I need to say it again? So the only option I see is to get this senority thing done quickly, because time is our worse enemy, things will wash out in the end. You will not have a perfect merger, to many people who will always find something wrong and whine. So unless you want to hit the streets again you better follow the Dollar and the Price Of Crude, because that is what will determine your career.

YOU ARE THE BIGGEST MORON I HAVE READ SOMETHING FROM IN SOME TIME-GO LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND YOU WILL REALIZE WHY BIRTH CONTROL WAS INVENTED, YOUR PARENTS DID THE WORLD A REAL INJUSTICE. YOU ARE A TOTAL WASTE OF THE SPACE YOU OCCUPY.

I think "Not Surprised" hit the nail on the head. Most of all the piolts are VERY over paid. Keep up the good work out there in AZ.

I have to also add that most of the replys seem as if you struck a deep nerve of self guilt. Whats wrong you know he is right. 26,000 dollars to fly a bus. I think that is a little too steep!

Hate to say it pal, but if your a flying bus driver and $26,000 last year then you're toast. Sounds like you'll be one of the first lay-offs.

If you went to college AND received aviation training at a huge expense, you would have a right to bitch and moan. You didn't pay your dues for one reason or another. Some people sacrifice early in life for more later, others don't see the need until it's too late. You sound like a good democrat. The world owes me and I deserve to have it all without doing anything. Change fields, get training in something, quit bitching and don't blame others for your position in life. Pilots are easy targets, but if you really understood airline economics, you could actually make an educated response. Ditto on the jobs, folks. If you don't like your job, get another one.

Actually, I think Flight Attendants are way overpaid.
If you keep the pay under 20,000 you will still attract young, adventurous, and pretty candidates, but they won't stay long enough to become crabby old biznatches.

The point of this whole argument about pay is not that pilots make to much money, it's that the rest of what used to be middle class America has watched their wages stagnate or go down while the price of everything else has gone up. The pilots might make a lot of money in relative terms but possibly it should be thought of as a fight to save the middle class. Wages have been in a race to the bottom for many years in this country and we all know who has gotten rich off of our sweat.

senior pilots earn their pay. anyone who thinks less is an idiot. junior pilots especially those flying for regionals are way under paid. flight attendants were decently and fairly paid until the massive cuts, and reduction in qualifications. you will not get educated, attractive, and nice workers at the rates they are now offering. yes, many pilots are prima donnas, and can be jerks, but they do earn their pay and deserve their wages. ticket prices are lower now than they were in the 80's, so those that think they are high are just stupid!

Anyone who thinks pilots are overpaid has never looked into the training, time and cost of becoming one. OK back to the topic.. You have to admit that having the pilots figure out the senority list BEFORE the merger is one of the best decisions management has ever made.. I guess they are learning from the mess USairways has become over it.. Come on guys get it figured out and lets get this thing done

Will she make as much as a pilot? Anyway, if you don't like the job and what goes with it, quit! There are plenty of others that will take the job at a reduced rate.

The fundemental problem here is that LABOR as a whole is not respected anymore.
