An 18-year-old Jenison man was hospitalized after being attacked with a meat cleaver early Saturday morning.

It's really sad when young people resort to violence to end disputes. It's even sadder(and sicker) when people have to joke about a crime which could be termed attempted murder.

nobody was sent to the hospital i was one of the people in this dispute. it was an argument that led to the 21 year old pulling out his hand crafted mini sword or w/e he likes to call it. he was just swinging it around at everyone while my friend was on the phone with the police

I bet this guy didn't have a carry concealed permit for this cleaver. When are we going to outlaw meat cleavers? How many more people have to get hurt before politicians stand up to the NCA= National Cleaver Association? I plead with Obama, Pelosi, and Reid to get a bill passed to make it illegal for a person to get their hands on meat cleavers. You're missing the point. People are learning that violence is the answer to settling disputes today. It's not an acceptable solution for anything. Violence begets violence.

Bon Van- I'm not saying that violence is acceptable i never said that what-so-ever! What I'm saying is the media lied to everyone about this. It wasn't the teenagers that brought this situation to where it went to. It was actually the 21 yr old. No one ended up in the hospital. No one was hurt.
The thing is people can't just talk and can't just fight with their hands, a weapon is always brought into the mixture.
So im going to say this again, I never once said violence was acceptable.
