We have alot of Big Targets down here. I like them and a guy i know in the Meat dept. says they are treated well, but underpaid.....

Dingo, yes, it's something kinda lost in alot of areas.......i have a little old timey hardware down here that has old drawers of stuff you need, and best yet, they will sell you just one if you like.......

Oh, I know exactly what you're saying. Nowadays you have to buy a 100 pack of bolts just to replace one.

When my wife would drag me to Saugatuck, kicking and screaming, I'd at least have a little hardware store that was just like that one you described to go and pout in :) Unfortunately that place closed, like so many other little old-timey places.

A union can't stop A-holes from being A-holes, but it does provide the workers with a grievance procedure, arbitration, and can hold management accountable to the terms of the contract.

I have been shopping at my local Harding's instead of Walmart for the last month. Less people, less germs. OK..I know, but it makes me feel better.

As far as the 4 sick day in 6 months. Hey, that could happen this year. You could get the regular flu, H1N1 and top it off with pneumonia.

Did the Walmart employee have healthcare thru Walmart?
