That corner is horrible since it's on a huge curve. I'm surprised that more accidents don't happen there. I hope Noah is going to be ok, and the teen driver is, too. This is a tragic situation for everyone.

How did he make it 14 years without anyone realizing that he was just really bad at crossing roads. I blame the parents.

Well said michael g. Stuff happens. I'm waiting for the neighbor to complain about the road engineering, speeders and every other defect but not the victim.

You have to realize that the speed limit is 55 along that stretch. As for 2 accidents she either has really bad luck or needs driving lessons. Been driving that stretch of road for 15 years never had a problem. As far back as I can remember that stretch of road has very few accidents as compared to other loacations in Jenison. I feel for the family but lets call it what it was an accident, wrong place wrong time, maybe the kid was distracted who knows. I know it must be the roads fault someone designed it bad, Not true. I would be more worried about praying for the kids quick recovery than wasting time pointing fingers.

wow. Such a sad situation. I hope the boy pulls through and I am praying for the driver. At 16, it sounded like she was more mature than most other 16 year olds in that she was paying attention!
I hope both recover!

No such thing as a bad road, just bad drivers. 16yr old girl in an SUV saw him and slowed down but still hit him???

did you miss the part in the story where it says the boy was distracted and attemped to run across the road? Give the child a break. She sounds to me like she was doing what she could to avoid a tragic situation. I'm not blaming the vicitm, either. They both need our prayers.

Well said. That stretch of road is known for speed. I'm sure the driver did everything she could not to him Noah. But knowing how it is to cross the road and try to read the mail, I'm sure Noah didn't know what was happening until it was too late.

All we can do at this point is pray for both families, and that all will be well with BOTH teens.
