Now if a primary purpose of Obamacare is to “bend the curve” of soaring health care costs, and half of those costs are incurred in the last six months of life, and the number of seniors will grow by scores of millions, how do you cut costs without rationing care? And how do you ration care without denying millions of elderly and aged the prescriptions, procedures and operations they need to stay alive?

The Gov't WILL Deny heath care. They WILL say we cannot afford to keep "these people" alive.

And if you don't believe that, you NEED to education yourself.

Yeah, really. A woman in UK had a premature baby and the baby was two weeks too early to be "covered" according to the UK universal healthcare coverage. The baby died.

Heard that on 2 radio stations, and saw it on a few websites...sounds like a freaking death panel to me.

Another couple of things to remember: government-run option WILL run private insurance companies out of business because the gov'm't can undercut prices...no choice, no care. Many doctors have said they will bail if any of these crappy bloated bills are passed....and there's already a nurse and doctor shortage so when a large portion of that part of the workforce leave, rationing is for real then if not before. If Pelosi's pukey bill passes in the Senate (God forbid) and Medicare/Medicaid aren't worked with to become solvent, and the dimocraps' spawn a third program---even if current healthcare workforce doesn't leave, we presently do not have enough personnel to cover a new program. Rationing, for sure.

Just because a certain word or words isn't in a piece of legislation doesn't mean it is absent. A bill is a legal doument, and a principle of law is that unless you define and verbally map out terms, concepts, etc, then a whole lot can be read into it, and later, written into it.

For too many terms Congress has done that crap of not reading bill, voting according to politics not conscience, and then sticking in a bunch more crap at the very last 5 minutes before voting occurs...or, someone sneaks to remove something.

We need a Congressional reform a whole more than we need this bloated disgusting Lugosi Pelosi/healthcare thing...the Baucuss bill sucked too. We don't need an overhaul, we need correction, refinement, crafting. All they want is to enslave us...that's why obaminator and legosi pelosi keep on keepin on, they want to destroy this country. No one who loves America wants any of this crap to pass, none of it should have been given the time and money it's been given (our dime, of course).

Disgusting: we "have" to pay them exhorbitant taxes so they can reduce our own lives...reduced to the lowest common denominator. Whatever "healthcare" won't kill, the crap and trade will finish off. So, neither of them as they stand now, can be allowed to move any further.

During August is was clear to everyone: the majority of Americans do not want a big peice of crap like these last two bills..we agree if 5-7 points are covered (take insurance with when move occurs, conpetition across sate lines, tort reform..etc) then we can incrementally continue to make changes to our health system. They system is NOT broken, but it needs attention. It needs less liberal influence, not more.

It is amazing that the first reaction of the GOP is almost always fabricated scare tactics. They wanted to invade Iraq so they made up the WMD threat and maintained it in the face of the evidence it was false. It is incredible that so many people have hung on to this Birther BS despite the fact that even party leaders have dropped it. I love the fact that they claim illegals will get free health care, you point out the language that says they can't and they change the argument to it is not strong enough language, I guess to them NO never means NO.

Death Panels is pure made up crap from Palin. The problem is these folks want to think it is true so they beleive it no matter how much evidence there is to the contrary. All of these contortions of logic continue to convince me that there is a level of racism involved in this, nothing else explains it. Then I recall how rabid they were about Clinton getting a hummer in the White House. It could be this is just all about not having a GOP in the White House, they just can't stand it.

Mika Miche makes a VERY good point, just because words are absent does not mean a policy itself is absent. It IS in the bill as Palin suggests. So far I have read three references to panels in the bill. One more direct than the others, but it is in the bill, read it. At nearly 2,000 pages it is a big project. But if you wish to be both informed and speak properly on the issue, this is the only solution, read it.

It's a tough slog to be sure, but worth the effort. If you can't read the entire thing, at least do a document search for the items that concern you most and read up on those.

Folks, GR Bana has not read this thing. Not a single sentence.

If he did, he could just as easily point to the sections that clearly disprove that these types of panels would never exist.

But simple logic tells you that in order to keep costs down, the feds will have to ration out who gets what, and how much. You will have a board of people deciding that, like they have in other nations that have socialist medicine.

There simply isnt enough money you can steal from the public to care for 300 million people at the level the left is pretending that this bill will.

No one is going to take your word, Bana, on what is or isnt in this bill. You dont have any credibility here.
