When I was a kid around nine years old I worked for a man who owned a greenhouse he grew tomatoes and geraniums. I remember helping pick tomatoes with his kids and he paid me. And my family always had fresh tomatoes.

I don't have a problem with kids working. Shoot I have been working full time since I was fifteen years old. Never worked in a fast food or grocery store, Always manual labor. Its good for kids to work. Keeps them out of trouble and dang you always have some money in your pocket.

As long as they weren't forced to work and were there working along with their parents, who cares?

Were they relatives or the owner's children? When I was young, I had friends that lived on a farm, and they had to do their chores before they could play.

On any kind of a farm, there is always work to be done. Geez, I even helped out from time to time for a little extra pocket money. From reading that article, and knowing what I do (very little) about farming, I don't see it as a big deal.

If I remember correctly, the picture that was in the local news showed what appeared to be a kid of Hispanic decent. But, again, if his parents were working for the farmer and the kid was working alongside his parents, no big deal. He could have been downtown GR selling drugs ...

I didn't see the picture. Thanks. I do agree, if the child was working alongside his parents, they, at least knew what he was doing and not out wandering the streets. No big deal.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Aries

It's one of those days when you'd be wise to mind your Ps and Qs if you want to avoid putting both feet in it or feeling like a fool. The trouble is that you're finding it hard to think before you speak, and you're rushing into situations without thinking about the possible consequences. All you can do is to apologize and try your hardest not to let it happen again.
