It sounds like the board made a knee jerk reaction in the first place, but you have to give them credit, it's not easy to admit and correct a mistake.

He campaigned on working part time and hiring a manager to run the township. According to township law, the only time the board is allowed to change the supervisor salary is during a the budget discussions for the following year. Since he said he would part time for $15,000 a yr and hire a manager, they set his salary to $15,000 when it legally had to be. Otherwise he would be receiving full time pay for part time hours for a year before they could change his pay. The original decision to cut his pay makes since, since he said he was going to work the part time hours.

Good! The board realized that what they did was sour grapes, and all of us who live in Jenison were mad as h*ll. Thank goodness they're out of office soon!

The only reason they reversed themselves is because so many people were furious that they did it. The board members who voted for it were just voted out of office, so it was obvious their actions were retaliatory!

He said he would do it AFTER the hiring of a manager and this board needs to be thrown out on their collective ear for such an irresponsible and vindictive act. The petty nature of such a morally bankrupt move should motivate people to remember the names and vote them out. What kind of children are running the township when these kinds of things are allowed to go this far???

Did I just lie again to the people by accepting a pay increase? Sorry, I didn't correlate my campaign promise to the action of the board. Waaaaaaaaaaaa!

By looking at his back yard in the interview this f***er doesn't need a thing unless his house isn't paid for then he needs every dime he gets to pay his mortgage. I hate politics.......they might as well be lawyers. Same species..........spineless.

If you were at the meeting tonight, Monday the 22nd, you would have heard D. Dale Mohr publically admit that he did not always state he would take the amount of $15,000 ONLY after a manager was hired. In a lot of his literature he made no correlation between the two. It came from the horses uh mouth.

When the discussion of the salary reduction was before the board the other members asked Mohr questions about the reduction and why he chose the figure $81,250 and he did NOT answer them. For a man who talks about open board discussion he sure gave the cold shoulder.

Oh is that right? Is that why Holland and other out-going board members had so many supporters at tonights meeting?
Does the news say that, nah.

Why is Mohr contending a pay cut for himself when he promised it? Was there a Township Manager hired? Why is the board being perceived as being vindictive over their original decision????

A news service should report the full story - WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE,WHY

Many great leaders have made unpopular decisions, and have stood firm behind those decisions...if holland had soo many supporters at the meeting, why change his mind..ill tell you why...it was not an unpopular vote from a great leader, it was a vindictive vote from a sore looser in the first place....say what you want, but ill state again they (the board) dont have the courage of their convictions.

Too bad small town politics had to make the news this way. I hope that someday we have leaders that remove adolescent thoughts from their mind and return to doing what is best for the people.

Conservatism took a blow on this...I hope small town leaders were reminded that the public is watching...no matter how small the community.

I think the current supervisor and the current board were just trying to do one last dirty deed before they left office. Let's stick it to Dale Mohr and show him how ruthless we can be. I have seen how bad Bill Holland can be and I am glad that he is out of office. He was not good for the township and he showed us how mean he really can be by getting the board to cut Dale Mohr salary. Yes Dale says that he will take a pay cut when a new manager is hired and I believe he will. But to cut his pay before he is even in office is terrible and the board knew that when they did. I say good job to those in Georgetown Township that went and told the board what they thought.
