I am not a Ford fan. But I can't buy another Chrysler product because of the hand out. Ford is going to get my business as soon as the banks give out loans again. The Edge looks nice in AWD.

Then we should boycott all industries that accepted government bailouts. Doesn't sound very practical to me.

I'll be buying foreign from now on. I bought a Chevy 3 years ago and GM wouldn't honor the warranty. I'll never buy another.

If everyone boycott's GM, then it really will be a waste of tax dollars.
I drive a Ford, but thats just my preference, I like the ride and seat height better than the Silverado. But that doesnt mean I have anything against a Chevy.
GM has some nice vehicles, and to boycott them just because they got a bailout doesnt make any sense.

Hey, if the Big 3 hadn't been making JUNK for the last two decades, they wouldn't be in the mess they're in. People are tired of buying overpriced, rusting cars that get 10 m.p.g.

Why? Everyone that works at the dealer I bought my Honda from speaks very good English, they're even American, even the car was born in the good old US of A.

Oh and another thing, I have had Hondas for years and they never break. GM is still 10 years behind them in quality.

Market demand will always lean towards the better product, its one of the benefits of a thing called 'capitalism'. Maybe you would prefer a state run automaker, you know a company that builds crap cars but will always be around because the government can just print more money. Oh wait...GM....nevermind.

it's a waste of tax dollars NO MATTER WHAT.

we need to set an example. big businesses that receive tax dollars should be PUNISHED. that way, they'll think twice before receiving gov't money that they didn't earn.

Employ a Mexican. Buy a Ford.

Ford has the lowest domestic content of any vehicle manufacturer that has plants in the US.

The profit from a vehicle is small, compared to all the engineering and suppliers that make parts for that vehicle.
Now, lets look at all the people that are employed that it takes to make the vehicle. Honda, for example don't import parts from Japan for a Honda Accord. It would be way to costly. The Japanese are better minimizing those cost than are the Big 3, they are far more efficient.

Foreign car manufacturers generate billions of dollars in jobs and community infrastructure in the U.S., but there is a difference between Detroit's economic footprint and that of its foreign competition.
Furthermore, why are cars anymore important than anything else thats made overseas. Try finding good clothing made in the U.S.
Most is all made overseas. Cheaper labor and cost are lower.

Blah, blah, blah. change the subject. Go back to economics 101. The PROFITS go to Japan.
