http://www.woodtv.com/dpp/news/local/central_... IONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich.(WOOD)- A 1-year-old girl died after being hit by a vehicle Monday evening at a trailer park in Ionia Township. The incident happened on private property around 7 p.m. at Evergreen Mobile Home Park, north of Ionia, in the 2000 block of North State Street. The family was riding in its Ford F-150 pickup truck with the child's mother driving and her dad in the passenger seat. The girl was riding on her father's lap. As the mother pulled up to the family's mobile home unit, the truck door swung open and the child fell out of the vehicle and was run over by the truck. When Ionia County investigators arrived, the girl already was dead. Officials still are trying to determine exactly what happened. The family speaks very little to no English and is talking through interpreters. Investigators are gathering information before determining whether the incident will be treated as anything more than an accident. ---------- What the flock were they thinking? Another innocent life lost because of the stupidity of their parents.

Now, now, now, ladies and...EmmaRae [LOL]...Lets see what the investigation concludes...Yes, it says the girl was on her Dad's lap and not in a car seat...Was this a case of, they ran to the neighbors or the mailbox, OR, was it a case of this child had been out of a carseat out on the roads?

I heard just a little bit about this story on the news, then the newscaster said something about the little one who died had been beaten before being run over. Is this the same story or something entirely different?

http://www.woodtv.com/dpp/news/local/central_... Updated IONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich.(WOOD)- Ionia County investigators believe a language barrier may have played a role in the death of a 1-year-old girl who was run over by her family's truck when she fell out. Sheriff's department personnel told 24 Hour News 8 they believe the accident happened at the North Side Party Store, not on private property as originally thought. Investigators believe the Ford F-150 was trying to turn south out of the party store when the child, who was riding on her father's lap, pulled on the door handle, fell out of the truck and was run over there. The parents speak almost no English. They picked the girl up and drove the few blocks to their home. Then, a call was placed to 911 by someone at the home who spoke English. The investigation is ongoing. 24 Hour News 8 will have updates as they develop. ---------- No one spoke english in the store? I stand by my statement earlier. Stupidity is why this child lost its life.

I was wondering if alcohol may have been a factor in this tragedy. Poor little baby girl.

Most hillbillies are capable of speaking English, at least parts of it. The fact that this family doesn't speak English should have tipped you off that they are probably immigrants, and therefore, not hillbillies. You should have chosen a different derogatory term to describe them, and really let the racism shine through. Hillbillies don't always understand those nuances though, so I guess we should give you a break.
