Carol Forsloff......Hahahahaha.
You can't be serious, she needs to stick to Real Views. What a cancer, she breeds hate in Natch and divides the lines of society.

Its an opinion article (editorial), not news.

She speaks about Jena and "the noose issue" but fails to mention the fact that 6 black thugs viciously attacked 1 white student, stomping him to the point of unconsciousness and almost killing him. That is not only cowardice, but should have been prosecuted as a hate crime.

They want a black superintendent -- give them one. Reinstitute segregation. We can have a white school and a black school system. The blacks can all commit crimes against each other and stay dumb and the whites can have a peaceful environment for learning.

Re: "Ben Johnson one of the most influential and respected black leaders of the 20th century in Louisiana ..."

Well, that may be Ms. Forsloff, but the annual Ben Johnson parade looks more like a hurricane evacuation.

But that's my editorial opinion, not a news story, a difference Ms. Forsloff can't seem to distinguish.

This story is extremely biased. Duke was successful as principal at NCHS years ago. He had the same policy as Toro and Wester, everyone receives the same punishment no matter who you are if you break a rule. The students respect this authority, because it is fair. There are no special favors for anyone not even school board members' children/grandchildren. Toro stood firm with the present mayor's child. We need a strong individual. Duke will not be here long and hopefully he will clean up Dr. Murphy's mess. We don't need another woman no matter what color she is. I am sick and tired of the blacks using the race card. We have a black president and it is time to put the race card away. I find it amazing that there were 4 blacks in the top five. We need to get rid of every black school member and most of the whites anyway. The black community needs to vote for better black candidates. Term limits should be imposed. School board members should have a college degree and should not receive a salary only expenses paid.
thats whats up

blacks are always the muthafukin victim!!!!!!!

they can murder whites with their bare hands and team up and literally stomp a boys head in - but they are still the victim.

No where in the article listed the qualifications of both candidates, only race. So just becuase someone is black they should get the job? This whole story doesn't make alot of sense for the fact that it doesn't give enough information to let the public decide what the issue is. It is sad however how we all holler race, black white whatever, but yet the african american population have a NAACP, Negro College Fund, Black Entertainment TV, Black History Month... You don't see White history month? Until this country treats both races EQUALLY we will always have these racial issues, it isn't equal by no means. I believe now there is more blame being placed on the whites and everything's a racial issue. To me it's not all a racial issue, just like all the news wants to cite the inidents, the fact it no matter the situation and color you get treated like you act and present yourself!

The fact that Duke has little to no experience with modern technology nor diversity might play a bigger part in why the majority of minority parents are in an uproar. The fact is that there was only one white candidate, and he is not qualified to be in such a position in todays day and time. He as admitted to not having experience in using the Blackboard system at NSU (a very user friendly system). The truth is, he was principal during the 70s and is way outdated and should be retired, not trying to impose his old fashioned and outdated views on our youth today. You can all scream the race card, but the fact is there were 3 other candidates who were more than qualified, but happened to be black…I would say enough reason for the black community to scream racism.
I know, from personal experience, that there is still a huge race problem in the Natchitoches Parish schools and, for one, can understand the outrage. My children went to Marthaville Elementary and had black friends who were treated shamefully from teachers and staff but the parents could and did not receive help from the school board members at that time (and this was not that long ago (3 years), so there fear that a principal from the 70s will continue to treat there children in a biased, racist manner is completely justified.

OMG here we go with this race stuff again. It seems to me that everyone doesn't realize that if this guy was so hurt why did he leave the hospital to go to his ring ceremony? Guess they didn't beat him up that bad!

Beaten into unconsciousness is pretty "bad." Six ambushing one is pretty "bad."

Perhaps you should try it (as the recipient) and then offer an opinion?

Well, technology does not appear to be working. We need to get back to the old fashioned basics. Duke can certainly handle the discipline problem which is interferring greatly with learning. Give him 2 years to do this then we can get some one who is more updated. I have to laugh about your stattement that "Duke has no experience with modern technology nor diversity might play a bigger part in why the majority of minority parents are in an uproar." Most of the minority parents have caused the problems in the school system by not caring about their children's education, not teaching their children how to behave, and the list could go on and on. I doubt the minority really cares about his knowledge in technology. Their only concern is the new superintendent's race.

That is a great question and the answer is zero. Why is it only a race issue with the white board members but it's not when the black board members won't vote on a white candidate? Maybe the whites should be screaming racism. Oh yea whites don't act that way.

It is due to comments such as these, that lead me to believe that race more than anything had to due with this election. Everyone is ranting and raving that the minorities are only upset because Duke is white…when in fact it is the white majority that is glad he is white. Do you honestly believe that there are not any white kids in the schools that cause these problems. The fact that they are not disciplined and are taught early on that due to their skin color they are better than the rest…I went to school with these good ole boys…some of you posting here probably…and I know they were just as bad, if not worse, then the black kids at starting fights. Do you not hear or see the hypocrisy in all of your posts…in one breath you are saying the blacks are just upset because of his color..and in the next breath you are saying all blacks cause the problems in schools…

THEY DON'T...then maybe you should read over these posts again...maybe none of the black members voted for Duke because he is NOT QUALIFIED

Since the election of our first Afro American Muslim Socialist president -- racial troubles seem to be on the rise in these Newnited States. Obama it seems is no different than Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. An instigator and divider.

Your comments are extremely racists. Mine are a reply to your racists comments. I don't care what color the new superintendent is. What I care about is the obvious racism by the black leaders. Duke was chosen, because he had a proven record. He was superintendent in Winn Parish and there are plenty of black people who live there. Dr. Murphy had no experience and this is why they wanted someone with a PROVEN record. He was successful as a principal and a superintendent. I think this qualifies him over the others. Now just shut up and accept the fact we have a new superintendent. Why don't you go help the people in your community to be more productive citizens. Our country is running out of money for all the services they provide for your community. Hey, this is another issue you can discuss.
