What if a gang of 6 white students ambushed a black student from behind, beat him unconscious, caused him to suffer permanent brain damage, and left him for dead? The NAACP et al would be calling for hate crime charges! Even if the black student called his assailants "honky" and told them to "go back to Europe", that wouldn't excuse the beating. What the Jena 6 did to Justin Barker was every bit as much a hate crime as the scenario described above, and it was right to treat as a serious matter.

The funny thing about the march at the school arranged by the black groups. They were too stupid to arrange for water and bathroom facilities for the marchers and the Red Cross had to step in at the last moment and pay for and provide port-a-potties and bottled water. Otherwise the splibs would have been passing out from the heat and/or urinating and defecating on the ground just like their cousins in the jungle.

Before anybody starts posting on the Jena 6, may I suggest you read about the case from the beginning. In 2008 every tree should be available to sit under for whoever wants to sit under it ! A whites only tree in 2008 ?? Are you freaking kidding me ??? < That my friends is the very beginning of this case.

There was no white only tree - that's more crap from Sharpcoon and his ilk.

.
From the Christian Science Monitor "Myth 1: The Whites-Only Tree. There has never been a "whites-only" tree at Jena High School. Students of all races sat underneath this tree. When a student asked during an assembly at the start of school last year if anyone could sit under the tree, it evoked laughter from everyone present blacks and whites. As reported by students in the assembly, the question was asked to make a joke and to drag out the assembly and avoid class."

"Myth 2: Nooses a Signal to Black Students. An investigation by school officials, police, and an FBI agent revealed the true motivation behind the placing of two nooses in the tree the day after the assembly. According to the expulsion committee, the crudely constructed nooses were not aimed at black students. Instead, they were understood to be a prank by three white students aimed at their fellow white friends, members of the school rodeo team.(The students apparently got the idea from watching episodes of "Lonesome Dove.") The committee further concluded that the three young teens had no knowledge that nooses symbolize the terrible legacy of the lynchings of countless blacks in American history. When informed of this history by school officials, they became visibly remorseful because they had many black friends. Another myth concerns their punishment, which was not a three-day suspension, but rather nine days at an alternative facility followed by two weeks of in-school suspension, Saturday detentions, attendance at Discipline Court, and evaluation by licensed mental-health professionals. The students who hung the nooses have not publicly come forward to give their version of events."

Myth 3: The Schoolyard Fight. The event on Dec. 4, 2006 was consistently labeled a "schoolyard fight." But witnesses described something much more horrific. Several black students, including those now known as the Jena 6, barricaded an exit to the school's gym as they lay in wait for Justin Barker to exit.(It remains unclear why Mr. Barker was specifically targeted.)

When Barker tried to leave through another exit, court testimony indicates, he was hit from behind by Mychal Bell. Multiple witnesses confirmed that Barker was immediately knocked unconscious and lay on the floor defenseless as several other black students joined together to kick and stomp him, with most of the blows striking his head. Police speculate that the motivation for the attack was related to the racially charged fights that had occurred during the previous weekend.

No it's not bunk. I was reading about this case for months before anybody in the north even got a sniff of it and it was always about the tree.

You are partially right - the criminal defendant's always used the tree to try to avoid responsibility for their criminal conduct. That is what all defendants do - "I didn't do Nuffin - it bes racism."

Where are your facts? The kids were not charged with a hate crime even after a Federal Investigation.

Many, if not most blacks feel that they can't be held to the same standards under-the-law that bind everyone else, and when held to account scream "racism".
The looney-Left gave them false permission to be above the law.
More and more, criminal blacks are being treated as more-than-equal than everyone else, who are cowed by the false cries of "racism".
The longer this goes on, the more resentment and racism it will cause against them.

The truth is simply what you want to believe. The nooses were part of spirit week leading up to a football game in 2006. The nooses were taken down after students, both black and white, were observed playing on them. The principal wanted the students involved expelled, but he was over ruled by the school board. Justin Barker was not one of the individuals who placed the nooses in the tree. Justin Barker was not specifically targeted by the Jena 6, he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. A statement by an African American student named four of the Jena 6 as planning to jump a white student, but her statement said that they never mentioned a target. Investigations by the city, state, and federal authorities found no link between the noose incident and the attack. FYI, Bell was adjudicated in juvenile court for assualting his then girlfriend. He was intially charged with rape. After being given probation, the girl's grandfather told Bell that he would kill Bell if he ever came near his daughter. Bell has another three adjudications on his record. Other than his family, the African American community in Jena could care less about Bell. He was a young man out of control. The lies and half truths spouted by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and the liberal media have protrayed Jena in a very demeaning light. Did anyone notice that Bell plead out rather than go to trial. The deal he received was not as good as the one that he offered in May of 07.

Well hey, had those 3 white kid never hung nooses which was pretty ignorant of them, then one of their friends would have never gotten the snot kicked outta'em. for every action theres a reaction, duh.

granted they shouldnt have beat the kid but hey, tensions must have been running how and they got fed up with the racism.

I bet those idiots wont hang another noose though.
where are their parents at?
b/c obviously the parents taught them to hate, theyre just as much to blame as well.

But once again, there has never been any proof of a connection between the noose incident and the beating of Justin Barker. He was not involved in the noose incident. It has been investigated by city, state and federal authorities. The US Deputy Attorney General Donald Washington, who happens to be black, was called everything but an "Uncle Tom" by members of the Congressional Black Caucus. This was mainly because he didn't find any connection between the two events. The weekend before the attack, the main administration building was burned in an arson attack. Those involved were arrested and it was an attempt to cover up some poor grades and disciplinary notes in the accused school files.

Things are fine. The real source of the disagreements have been between the supposed adults on either side of the issue. We've had no race related incidents in the past year. Things here are fine. As far as how I feel, I didn't start teaching here until after the incident occurred. I personally think that Bell was given some preferential treatment because he was a star on the football team and that led to his problems. Had he been held accountable from the beginning, it may have stopped this train wreck from happening. The charges may have been over the top, but not being from here, I don't know. This town didn't deserve to be dragged through the mud by Sharpton, Jackson, the New Black Panther Party, John Mellencamp, and the national media. I like working here.
