Take advantage of the ignorance of Texans whose crooked politicians take payoffs from the gambling interests of OK, LA and NM to keep gambling out of the State. If the casino opens, and legal gambling, including poker, is included, it will bring more tourists to Anthony than come to El Paso. Anthony will become a growing, prosperous city, considering the traffic that crosses at Santa Teresa. Truck drivers love to gamble, and they often have dead time between loads. Hopefully, Governor Martinez will support this and realize its economic possibilities for an otherwise impoverished area of Southern NM.

Up until the 1960s every West Texas town of 500 or more had their resident "Oklahoma bootlegger." He was always the biggest contributor to political campaigns to keep West Texas dry, and also the biggest contributor to keeping sheriffs in office who looked the other way, thus monopolizing the source of booze.

Yup, Texas is losing out on a lot of money...I think Texans should start thinking money instead of trying to make everything an issue of morality. Some things should just never be made legal, in my opinion gambling shouldn't be...especially when all surrounding states support it and make great financial gains because of it.

Everyone thinks that the Jemez tribe is actually going to provide jobs and an econimic boost for the people of Anthony? Wrong, the Jemez tribe has said that they are opening this casino to provide their people with jobs. How many Jemez indians live in Anthony? Exactly. Also, you are foolish to believe that their revenue is going to go to the city of Anthony. Yeah, they will build schools, community centers, etc.. but for their tribe on their land and not accesible to the public. C'mon people this is not a good move at all.
