I can't believe how the kids that are growing now see no price on life. To do what they did and go on with life as nothing happen shows a lack of soul. If anyone deserves the death penalty it would be these people.

Although I did not know her, I was really sad to hear they found her deceased. I guess I hoped she got tired of everything and just upped and left, although the evidence wasn't pointing in that direction. I cannot believe how casually these murderers took another human's life, then hiding the body in a house before burying it. Not only did these murderers affect her family and friends but every student she has ever taught. No doubt she has touched many of her students' lives and now they have to grieve as well and wonder how such a horrific thing can happen to someone they love and care for.

Agree here!! Wasn't it the wife? And the 10 year old in Valencia County was a birth child with troubled birth parents? Crazy is crazy!! This is tragic none the less! We lost a good person to a murder caused by mental illness... Blood Birth or adoption has nothing to do with it...

Very true, unless one of the accused ADMITS to what happened, then leads the authorities to the body. And your worried about what the family might "read"? Way too late for them to be a little disturbed by all of this.

I think the relevance is that devotion to ones own biological children is considered natural. People love their kids. They usually have no choice in the matter. It's biological. The fact that Ellen Roth loved someone else's child enough to raise it as her own makes her all the more noble to people. The fact that "her son" repaid that immeasurable gift with robbery and then murder makes him (and all his assassin henchmen) seem that much more vile. We think of murder of any kind as the ultimate crime but these animals are so low that words can't even describe what they are.

As a parent to both adopted and birth sons, I'm seeing how his warped thinking and non-attachment lead to this trajedy.Ellen's adopted child issued a foreshadowing on his blog: "i hate family becasue i got stabed in the back by two all you need in life is friends." The woman who devoted her life to trying to create a sense of family for him was probably the BEST friend he ever had but he dumped her for these other terribly mixed up "friends".

Ellen's funeral is tomorrow.
May your memory be eternal, loving teacher. May the seeds of love and goodness and hope and righteousness you have sown grow into a bountiful vineyard as your legacy. May those whose hearts hurt with sadness and bitterness find healing, comfort and His peace which passes understanding. God bless you and keep you. You were kind of a little lady, but you sure had a big impact.

She was a dear teacher of mine and she did not deserve this. These people are just sick and need not to be let out of wherever they are being kept. They did a horrible thing.
