I think Mr.Brandon Partin is a one timer. My house is very small and is over 100 years old with 1 acre of land and Brandon himself said that my house needs serious repairs but yet he appraised it for $27,000 and it is located in the county not the city. He raised my taxes $50.00 from last year.
I can say this much foresure I will not vote for Mr. Partin the next time.

It was in the LaFollette Press explaining that the State of Tennessee did a "Mandated State Property Reappraisal", this was NOT the Property Assessor. The state did the same reappraisal 5 years ago.
These same people have been on other sites trying to start problems, don't listen to them, call or go to the Property Accessor's office and he will correct them if a mistake has been made.

This is not Mr. Partin. I went to see him and he explained it to me. I know he has been helping people for the past two or three weeks.

Also, that was an appraisal, not your tax bill. We don't know what the tax rate is until the Commissioners makes decide on what the rate will be.

actually when they appraise my house and other neighbors house, they were to lazy to get out of the truck.. my house was appraise by the county 2 years ago, and now again, basically everyone got a flat rate increase, no matter when the last appraisal, so where my house was appraise 2 years ago, then the flat rate this time, I was hit harder than most..
Second, they didnt do any appraisal correctly, the appraisal has to be made on value if you can sell the land and house at that appraisal, not even close..
If he had done the appraisal correctly, but he didnt he wouldnt have so many complaints,

here is the rules he fail on, he should resigned

(a) The value of all property shall be ascertained from the evidence of its sound, intrinsic and immediate value, for purposes of sale between a willing seller and a willing buyer without consideration of speculative values, and when appropriate, subject to the provisions of the Agricultural, Forest and Open Space Land Act of 1976, codified in part 10 of this chapter.

(b) It is the legislative intent that no appraisal under this part shall be influenced by inflated values resulting from speculative purchases in particular areas in anticipation of uncertain future real estate markets; but all property of every kind shall be appraised according to its sound, intrinsic and immediate economic value, which shall be ascertained in accordance with such official assessment manuals as may be promulgated and issued by the state division of property assessments and approved by the state board of equalization pursuant to law.

(c)(1) The general assembly finds that the increased market value of certain residential property zoned for commercial use has caused an increase in taxes to the extent that citizens are faced with the necessity of selling dwelling houses in which they have lived for many years. The general assembly finds that present use valuation has been extended to others, and is warranted under certain circumstances to relieve the burden of increased taxation to residential owners.

I had my home appraised Friday and when the guy said $15,000 I like to have past out....I always felt it should have benn around $16,000 but the county always had it set at $22,000 and Mr. Partin decides it should now be appraised at $26,000. Brandon Partin I think you need to get out on foot and get these homes appraised at the right amount or get out of the office and let someone take over that will get the appraisals correct. If you feel that my home is worth the amount you say then let me sell you my home sir....for $26,000 and I will move on somewhere else.

Next time put a Brandon Partin sign in your yard and you won't have this problem. Those folks are doing well with their "low" property values.

the problem is you will have to pay much higher property taxes due to the over-inflated appraisals! All this being in a crappy town where property values are low.
