I don't know I didn't hear about that one. I was reading a paper at work and saw an article on a Grandfather being convicted of raping his Granddaughter, but the paper said he was from Jellico.

My ex-sister in law works for the Doe Network. She started working for them when she still lived in Jellico, but she moved here to Corbin about 4 yrs ago. I know she is an advocate for the Campbell County area, makes sure the small rural areas are not overlooked. Everyone should check out the Doe Network www.doenetwork.org You can type the area you wish to see into the search box. Also they have a sister website nampn.org that profiles newer cases. The organization is really making a difference with cold cases. Maybe someday there will be no more unanswered questions.

I read this about topic in Williamsburg forum too and I ordered a book about one of the murders it talks about . I also remember hearing about the night manager getting killed at Hardee's but I thought she was killed in Hardee's parking lot , also thought it was suppose to be a robbery but then later on I heard different .Anyone else know about this . I don't remember the girls name now . It seems like she was from Newcome. That;s about all I can remember about it.Was it kept hush -hush? Or did they really try to solve the murder?I just curious .
When did this happen

do you all take white collar crimes? There is a Memorial committee I wish to have investigated. Corbin law won't touch it and neither will FBI.

The sad thing about some of these unsolved murders is that they will never be solved because some of the people that committed them are already dead, have changed their whole identity&will never be found or they are packing a pocket full of money.Really sad.

Wasn't there a body found years ago off the Stinking Creek Exit? If so does anyone know what had happened?
Knoxville News Sentinel (TN) May 20, 2007

Article Text: JELLICO, Tenn.— Nameless and faceless, her decomposing body appeared in Detective Eddie Barton’s mind each time he drove along Stinking Creek Road. He’d tick off the details to himself: Black female younger than 40. No scars. No tattoos. One gunshot wound to the head. Stab wounds. A discolored line about the width of a wedding band on one finger. Found Oct. 25, 1998, by a man collecting soda cans. That’s all Barton, now retired, knew COMING MONDAY When it comes to tracking unclaimed bodies in Tennessee, there’s no formal recordkeeping system or central information storehouse. about her. That’s all Campbell County Sheriff’s Department detectives know today. But they haven’t forgotten the woman now buried in a Campbell County grave marked “Unknown.” Referred to by investigators as “Jane Doe No. 2,” she is one of the untold number of unidentified and unclaimed bodies found by law enforcement agencies in Tennessee. Some are murder victims. Some appear to be homeless. Most turn out to have been from out of town. At least 15 of those men and women found over the past three decades in East Tennessee remain unidentified. The bodies are in graves, morgues and at the University of Tennessee Forensic Anthropology Center. All told, there may be more than 100 Tennessee cases.

I use to work at hardees a couple of summers ago and there use to be this pregnant woman come in all the time bc I gave her free sodas. She was all the time walking by there bc she lived at Jellico Motel. Everyone said she was a prostitute, but it didn't matter to me all I saw was a pregnant woman walking in the heat. Anyways I didnet see her for a few days and then the next thing I heard was that they found her dead in the motel ( I think they said she was hanged) any way the brushed it off as a "suicide" but I found it hard to believe bc she was always talking about how excited she was about having a baby and that she was really trying to turn her life around. I can't think of her name, does anyone remember her?

does anyone remember back in 98 or 99 when a body was found near billy's motel on the side of the road. The police thought it was a hit and run, but nothing was ever really said about it.
