Well, IMO Josh Sharp was good but Dustin Buckner is probably the best. I played with both. Buckner to my knowledge is the only one that got any kind of scholarship. Really nevr had any what you say great QB's Buckner was just a stellar running back who could throw good. But he was a good Qb. But Josh Sharp could throw good but couldn't run that fair.

Sam was amazing, could put the ball anywhere. Dustin is good but your asking bout the best. If you saw Sam you probably wouldnt question. He was an amazing athlete. They had a terrible coach back then.
I hope Dustin does great. I think he will do fine at UC.
Sam would call his own plays when he saw something he liked. He could throw it like a cannon. and accurate.
Ive seen all of them for the past 30 years and Sam was the best

Who do you all think was the fastest player to play at JHS??
just informing

The fastest was Dustin Buckner, TT Kellogg, That Brown kid was pretty fast I think he graduated in 04 or 05. Peanut Kellogg was fast but Tommy Bowlin or Dustin was probly the fastest of the new era.

Chad Heath! Not sure where all the love is coming from for the new era kids, but the competition now is no where near what it was when Bowlin or Kellogg played. Just my opinion though. Its pretty easy to look good when your playing sub par teams.

The competion is alot lower now then when it was back in the early 90's,The new era kids that you all call them could not hold there own against teams like Onidea and Coalfield back then.

Yeah man my freshman year 2002 we had Swafford, sharp, kellog, mitchell and morgan. The line was great with Owens, Brandon Sharp, Micheal Morris, Thomas Collins, and Jason Morgan Josh Creekmore was a good lineman that year too. We played really tough teams that year. Greenback, Cloudland (defending state runner up), Williamsurg, Scott County, Wartburg, Coalfield. those were some tough teams. I didn't get to play any that year cause I was just a freshman but it was still my favorite season because of the teams we played and we almost beat Oneida in tha playoffs lost 7-0. It just seems like the guys were a lot bigger back then probavbly just me but it seems like it. It also seems like the competition was higher back then again its probably just me. We fought tooth and nail with all of those teams but Greenback and Cloudland who later met in the 3rd round of the playoffs with Cloudland winning and Boyd Buchannon beat Cloudland in the state semi- finals. That Mark Byrd kid was a prodigy. Greenback that year was the quickest team I'd everr played against. We went 5-5 that year should have went 8-5 but made some mistakes then we lost a heartbraker in the playofs 7-0. Some call it the best game Jellico has ever played. I'm proud to have have been on the team that came so close to winning that first playoff game even though I didn't get to play a down in that game lol.
