I posted this in a FB group I'm a part of...
I’m not one to usually post, however, when I entered the page this morning, one of the members displayed at the top of this group has for his profile picture,“Sheriff Jim Proctor, finally a Sheriff that’s worth a sh*t.” Well, of course, I’m going to disagree, and als...o understanding that I am opening the proverbial Pandora’s box.
In 2008, my husband stepped up to the plate to run for Sheriff because of all the corruptness inside that agency. Tommy was the only person to have the “Honesty,” the “Integrity,” and the backbone to take on Bill Smith, and beat Bill Smith.(I would like to add: Tommy beat an “unbeatable” Bill Smith not just once, but twice; something Jim Proctor will never be able to claim.) Where was Jim’s honesty and integrity, and “doing the right thing for the right reasons” then? By the way, is there ever a “wrong reason” to do the right thing?
We all know that Tommy took on a heck of a mess when he took office. He, and the employees that really care about the agency, have worked hard to make the Camden County Sheriff’s Office a great agency. The Sheriff’s Office now runs better than it has in decades all because of the hard work of Tommy and his staff. The hard work has been done for Jim; all he has to do is sit behind the chair and let it run. Jim does not come into this office with the challenges and obstacles that Tommy faced four years ago, but because of Tommy, Jim comes into a well operating agency.
Tommy chose to run a clean campaign and run on his record; by the way, that is honesty and integrity and doing the right thing. Every fact and figure Tommy gave is backed by documented evidence. Every step of the way Tommy treated Jim with respect. Tommy did not send out letters talking about Jim’s jaded past or Jim’s recent immoral and insubordinate behavior while employed with Tommy as former Judge Williams’ personal bailiff. Tommy didn’t send out malicious mailers. Tommy pointed to his record and accomplishments. Tommy did not make a lot of empty promises just to get a vote. Tommy took the high road with this campaign as he did with the one against Bill. And, he can be proud of that. Jim won on lies, and he starts his tenure as Sheriff based on lies, and he knows it. I sincerely hope he changes that approach as he now enters the Sheriff’s Office.
Tommy and his staff have done a tremendous job for Camden County. They have achieved many great things. Despite Tommy’s biased critics, Tommy has been a great Sheriff with some of the best people in the profession working for him. Tommy has been a Sheriff who put the needs of this county and its citizens before himself; he truly cares. He can walk through this county with his head held high knowing that he did a fantastic job in turning the Sheriff’s Office around, and that he is worth a “sh*t.”
LOL! One last grasp isn't gonna help ya sweetie. This is embarrassing! YES 60 something % of Camden County showed up to make voter HISTORY all because "Mr.Worth a SH*T" was doing his job and putting Camden county citizens "before himself"
