Georgia's Colonial Coast Birding & Nature Festival
The festival runs Thursday through Sunday with free and nominal-fee programs offered throughout. For more information, go to www.coastalgeorgiabirding.org or call 1-877-4JEKYLL.
Nature Day from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday at the Jekyll Island Convention Center
It includes the following free seminars offered on a first-come, first-serve basis:
10-11:15 a.m.: The Georgia Coast: A Bird Magnet with Georgia Graves
12:30-1:45 p.m.: Birding for Beginners with Tim Keyes
2-3:15 p.m.: If Islands Could Talk with Taylor Schoettle
3:30-4:45 p.m.: Not on my Watch with Peter Stangel and Mary Elfner
9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Nature trip on the Little Satilla River (Boat ride cost:$50)
8:45-11 a.m.: Some open slots remain on the Jekyll Island Natural History Walk (cost:$5)
Noon and 5 p.m.: Raptor Shows will take place in the Rookery
1-2:15 p.m.: Marsh Walk with Georgia Graves
3:30-4:30 p.m.: Beach Walk with Georgia Graves
9 a.m.-1 p.m.: Beginning birding for Adults (one-hour slots starting on the hour)
