I remember all of you..My Dad owned the place. I just found this site upon getting tickets for some of the Bethel Woods concerts this summer. Was there ever any reunion?

Of course I remember you, Leslie - and Jodi, I can't place the faces of you and your brothers but I definitely remember the names. My parents, Beryl and Stan Faden, were counselors. It's funny - yesterday,I was feeling nostalgic about the place and wondering if it was still there.

I remember both your parents, I think you were a bit younger than me. I think your mom was the dance teacher at Top Hill Day Camp (great memories of her)

My brother has just corrected me. Terri was the dance teacher who was married to Marshall.

That's right - I think I attended beginning in '75 or so. Terri was the dance teacher (remember 'Killing Me Softly' and 'Rockin Robin'?) My parents were both counselors and my mother did a lot of artwork/set design for the shows and Color War.

Leslie-how is your brother David, from what I remember he was a year older than me.

Hi, I accidentally came upon this forum ... I currently stay in the colony that was once the site of Top Hill Day Camp. My parents rented a bungalow there about 25 years ago. I believe the owner of the majority share was Joe Wasserman at that time.

The colony was bought by Jewish people from the Carpathian mountain region of Russia a few years later (maybe 22 years ago or so). My family purchased the bungalow we lived in, and we have been there ever since.

The day camp resumed after it was bought out and continued until about 8 years ago (there were too few kids to continue). This year the camp will try to come together now that there are enough kids.

Now with Bethel Woods opening up, the entire area has been revitalized. What was once Vassmer's now has a brick oven pizza, a bar with live music, a bakery, and some specialty shops.

My family stayed in bungalow #19 from 1971-1982. It was originally owned by the Karas' family, whose son owned the Day Camp, and then sold to the Wasserman's. I was last up there about 16 years ago and was amazed by the transformation (our bungalow now had a second floor). Read about Vassmer's closing a few years ago, glad to hear that there has been a revitalization going on. Would love to get up there some time soon.

My brother is doing great living out in California, he is a lawyer and I also have a younger brother who is in Westchester and he is an Orthopedic Surgeon.

Who wouldn't remember Killing me softly and Rockin Robin. How about Born to be Wild! Terri definately had us moving, she was great. Erika I remember your parents very well. My dad was in touch with them not to long ago and some various other people who have migrated to Florida like Bud and Marcia if any body remembers them. They also go way back. I go up to Bethel Woods twice a summer for concerts, it's beautiful. The colony looks very different to me now. The town actually has some great restaurants. Worht a trip back for a concert.

My family was only up there from '81 thru '84 when they sold the place to the russian crowd. We were in bungalow 2a and I had incredible times with Joe Wasserman's Grandkids Jason, Cheryl and I think Stacy. Remeber joanie and gary strauss. The Miglios, Evin and Arick. Jill was going with Joe Miglio I would love to hear from someone. Whatever happened to Joe Wassermans daughter Fran. Do they still live in Yonkers. Its been over 20 years and I would love to hear from someone.

Hello! Jodi--I live in Westport too. My Dad came across this blog. We still have our house at White Lake Homes. There are still some of the same people. My sisters and I visit on weekends during the summer.
Hindi lives in Wayne, NJ and Cheryl just moved back from Florida to Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

It is great to hear all these names from the past.

Daily Horoscope for January 3

Aquarius

Try to avoid arguments with your family and friends. You will be less than satisfied with the way things are around you. Keep the peace with your parents. If you are working, the pressure will be on, but after hours the mood really improves! Relax and get enough rest. This will revitalize your energies and let you take advantage of your strokes of genius.
