I Agree with the Mayors comments about legalizing the local cockfighting or [poultry show] the authorities can`t close it down they have tried raided them took 400,000 dollars plus. ordered them to tear down the arena. put the people on probation. they are still their running their operation. mite as well make it legal pay taxes to the city county & state. if you work you pay all those taxes why should the poultry show be exempt? all legal business pays. the man from Louisiana that came here to run this operation gets no free ride from ky.

don't take mayor Hendersons word for it. Go ask the business owners well wait most of them sold since then. Ask the old business owners how well they all did back then. Have you ever saw 2 roosters in the yard fighting when noone else was around? It is in thier blood, some people just need something to b**** about.

Hmmm.... Does anyone else find it slightly ironic that the very people who act so high and mighty, saying things like "find something important to talk about" are the same people who are dismissive of chicken fighting. Wow- you really take the high road, huh? Something tells me you are one of those white trash morons cheering at the chicken fights.

It is a well-documented fact that most serial killers start out harming animals because they have no empathy for the pain of other living things. What does that say about the people cheering on the chickens?

Sure he has a right to his opinion, but that does not change the fact that his open support of chicken fighting is a bad reflection on Jeffersonville. Our Mayor should have the common sense to know better.

I don`t mean for this to be negative just my thought. first the Henderson family is a large family. they are involved in lots of different things. when their is a State Rep & a mayor in the family. that draws the news media.[Example] when the cockfighting thing maid the news they went to the mayor & the State Rep for a statement. this sad tragedy that happened this week on lower spruce. who did the news media talk to? Franky Henderson & mayor Anthony.& a Henderson lady that lived near the tragedy. they seam to be a hi profile family. that why they are all ways in the conversion.

It seems to me that a mayor should try to put some dignity into his town and give it a little class. I don't know the mayor personally, but I have been told that he is not the sophisticated, culturally oriented type. If he was that type, he would probably be elsewhere with his own kind.
