Burton should not be in jail. The guy was drunk and driving. It is better that he is dead and not some innocent person. What if he had hit your car with you child in it and killed the child and then been turned loose. You would complain either way. Everyone knows how alcohol makes some people ten feet tall and bullet proof. I guarantee you the guy was trying to hurt the trooper and the trooper did what he had to to defend himself.
You are exactly right!!! the police officer was trying to defend himself and others out on the roads!! He knew the consequences before he picked up the bottle of alcohol!! It is very dangerous!

He died as a result of his attempting to fight the trooper. He died as a result of falling and hitting the floor after the trooper had defended himself. There is a difference in drinking and drinking and driving SHUTUP. Just because someone drinks does not mean they will hurt someone. Drinking and driving, on the other hand has proven time and time again to be deadly. You need to get real and SHUTUP because you were not there, you are not that trooper and you do not know what he went through. Like I said it is better that he be dead than for some innocent child to be.
Very well said. My innocent baby was killed in just such a crash. Thank You!

FYI-- I work with Billy Phillips brother. State Medical Examiner testified there was no alcohol in system. Billy was heard on surveillance requesting a blood, breath, or urinalysis--which was denied--and SHOCK SHOCK--the tape came up missing. Southern Justice. Everyone knew the outcome before the trial. At least God will be BJ's judge. May it be swift and just.

SO, you work with his brother ? This makes you what ?
You must NOT know how to read. It came out in the testimony that he had a breathalyzer test and he FAILED IT.
SURE, there WASN'T MUCH ALCOHOL in his system AFTER 4 DAYS. They did have him on IV's. It WOULD run the BIGGEST PART of the alcohol OUT of his system.

WHO said the tape came up MISSING ? Probably his BROTHER. We ALL know that THIS FAMILY would NEVER LIE.
The TAPE was PLAYED as EVIDENCE.

Actually, I go to church with the family, as well as work with several family members. It will all come out in the wash. Your opinion, much like yourself, means nothing to the people who know what really happened. The transcripts of the trial will soon be public record. The Phillips family has nothing to hide, but evidentally Burton did. And actually, the tape was not played in evidence, as it was missing.

No, actually the tape WAS played at trial. He requested a blood test all the way up to when the time came to go get one. Then he learned number one he was going to have to pay for the test himself, and number two, he was still going to jail regardless of the blood test results. He then said "fu*k it", he didn't want one and the trooper took him on to jail.

Sooo you are now the expert, like so many you let emotions get in the way of reality... You indicate you know "what really happened", BUT probably not. Your judgement is as one sided as your comments. The facts are, Trooper Burton did not put Mr Phillips in the situation that caused his death, sadly Mr Phillips did. I feel sadness for the Phillips family and I pray for them AND I pray for Trooper Burton and his family. There is no wash for "it to come out" (as you put it) it has already came out, a jury of 12 found the Trooper NOT Guility and as bad as it must hurt for some of you, this was the only verdict they could reach in this case. Facts are facts...While I realize, by reading your post, other opinions mean nothing to you...Therefore should your opinion be of any concern... NOPE...Should my opinion be of concern, NOPE, The only opinion that matters here. is that of the Jury; a jury of the BEST criminal justice in the world. Respectfully Submitted.
