Stewart Enterprises Announces Organizational Restructure, Workforce Reduction
#1 Apr 22, 2012
Not sure how Tom Kitchen was selected as the CEO of this company having zero experience in this field, as well coming from a bankrupt company. Hmmm. Since his arrival he has done nothing but cause distractions with the implement of HMIS, Laserfiche, and the last straw, CRM. Now with this restructure you will see revenues sink. He is cutting out the location sales managers, replacing them with one who will now try to do the job of three. Any person who has a background in outside sales, which created the cemetery business, knows that daily direction and motivation is imperative to have a strong sales force. Mr Kitchen must think that all the business that the company writes just walks in, he is sorely mistaken. If he he wants to turn this into a retail type business he is certainly on the right track. Where he will be wrong is on his predicted budgets. The numbers will not be there Tom, the sales people will leave, and how the heck will customers be closer to management if you eliminate the location managers. Stock holders get out. This looks very close to what SCI did in the 90's and fell flat as far as revenue is concerned.if it wasn't broke why fix it.
